VIDEO: Footage of Achilles arriving at Cosmica HQ.

Lieutenant Rashida Ghali and her squad were in site of the Cosmica building they were told to secure, a squat, grey building with harsh blue lighting in the darkness of the asteroid's belly.

“I'd just feel better with some heavy weapons.”

Rashida turned to look at Naji. He was a newer recruit, fresh off the boat from Bourak. He seemed eager, but he also seemed eager to complaing. “I hear you, newbie, but intel states that resistance here should be light. A small Aleph scouting force was detected, but we're to expect some Dakini recon units and maybe a Deva or Asura. Nothing we can't handle.”

Naji met her eyes and didn't back down, which Rashida respected and also found extremely annoying. “Naji, when has our intel been wrong?”

So anyway, I got so deep in to my own head that I flubbed this one quite handily. See, I knew that Shamash was practicing with more traditional army builds instead of just one (1) Achilles and a pile of netrods feeding him orders. “Aha,” I thought, “a perfect opportunity to bring a swarm of light infantry specialists to swarm the board and seize objectives! As long as Shamash doesn't bring Achilles or a Marut, I should be in good shape!”

Anyway, he brought Achilles, and all Achilles did was kick people in half and shoot them in to giblets with his spitfire.

Team photo! There were few survivors.
The enemy! Soulless robots, the lot of 'em.
The battlefield. My deployment was along the upper left.
I started strong, with Doctor Uzi sneaking on the edge and handily slaying Atalanta.
With Atalanta out of the way, Doctor Uzi was able to get in to Shamash's deployment zone and snag me a point. Not a great start, but Atalanta being null cleared a big obstacle off the board.
Shamash's turn started strong, with Penthesilea cutting Doctor Shotgun in half with her +1 Sword of Sharpness. He got her nulled with his chain-colt, at least, even if it was only temporary.
On my second turn, I foolishly discarded this objective card, thinking I wasn't going to score it.
But then I would have scored it when Wild Bill came around the corner and gunned down the Sophotect.
Wild Bill took up position to guard both ladders up to the roof, but then Achilles just jumped up behind him.
Wild Bill failed his change facing roll. BEHIND YOU BILL! BILL, DEAR GOD, BEHIND YOU!
Achilles and Wild Bill got in to a bit of a tussle that Bill did *not* win.
The Naffatun fireteam took up position to hose down Achilles with burning naft if he got too close, which would have worked great if Achilles came at me face-first.
Instead, Achilles stood back and gunned down three-fifths of the fireteam. I managed to hit him with a single crit, but otherwise was devastated.
My final objectives, after using Doctor Uzi to shoot a netrod.
Shamash's final objectives. I started strong, but Achilles only gained in strength as the game went on. Probably because he's a SOULLESS ROBOT MONSTER.
Cat tax! Greg surveys his domain.
