– Re assignment to strike team approved good luck commander-

With the burdens of defense reassigned after our last crushing it was time for me to take my Shock Army strike team and engage the enemy directly. This time I was blasting deep into Haqqislam territory and striking the International Spaceport itself!

This was my second game of the day with my Shock Army this time against vanilla Haqqislam! Really Interesting fight a small elite force VS a horde of units with a few choice kill pieces.

-Initiative Roll-

Patrik Mansuri who was playing vanilla Haqqislam won the roll-off and chose to take the first turn and I chose table side and deployment.

-Deployment-

My opponent had a massive force reaching up to close to 20 orders with several units featuring smoke and holo echos. He deployed stuffing most units in total cover or prone on rooftops with several units utilizing mechanized deployment to set up in the midfield with mutts set up on both far flanks.

My Strategy was to deal with the Mutts in aro in an effort to preserve my Dragao as long as possible so it could vomit shots at whoever it saw. So I set up my Fireteam overlooking the left flank and I set two Fugazi up on a high tower aswell as fusilier Angus on the right flank. I deployed the Dragao centrally in cover with line of sight to the right flank should any mutts make it through. I also deployed a Naga FO in the center out of token state to pull the Mutt toward the center of the board and out of cover.

- Turn 1 Haqqislam -

AAAAANNNNDD were off! Patrik starts with the impetuous phase and brings in his free Yuan Yuan to throw some templates down on my Naga and start wracking up those specialists killed as well as stopping my redirection of his Mutts. Unfortunately the Naga manages to survive the unexpected attack and even manages to kill the Yuan Yuan in aro.

Next the Left side mutts ramage forward and try to throw smoke to cover their advance but the stalwart Baghmari team lay down a field of fire and manage to bring both of them down! The two Fugazi manage to turn the right side flank into a rave and blind one of the mutts but the other succeeds in throwing down smoke to cover its advance.

Making use of the scenario special rules the Haqqislam player manages to lank a Ragik with a boarding shotgun behind my Dragao. After a furious exchange between the two they both end up defeated with the Ragik burnt to death and the Dragao in Unconcious level 2. The surviving mutt made its way to the midfield to try to take on the Naga and the rest of the Haqq units shuffled around preparing for the next turn.

My Dragao just cannot catch a break!

- Turn 1 Shock Army -

I opened up my turn by activating my Shock Army Machinist and moving his pal bot over to the ruins of my Dragao. It took two tries but my Engineer got the Dragao up and running again. Dragao opened up on the Mutt and Killer hacker Nahab that were in his line of sight and turned them into a red mist.
With the threat of the mutts dealt with my fire team left its perch to head to the midfield with the aim of achieving some objectives!

Slowly Advancing towards the main haqq lines!

Akali Commando assault hacker jumped onto the board on the left flank and proceeded to shut down the Rafik with carbonite before achieving extremis recovery on one of the dead Mutts.

He scored some points but wasn't quite able to make it back out of line of sight!

- Turn 2 Haqqislam -

Ayyar made his move fast and deadly shredding the Naga with his surprise shot 2 rifle! He made an attempt on the team forcing the hacker to go prone after some luck saves. Next the ayyar set himself up to access the panoply while maintaining a relentless storm of fire on the Baghmaris luckily after several exchanges the hmg was able to defeat the Ayyar. A Taureg doctor revealed himself and shot up the hmg who was able to make a lucky save and duck out of line of sight. unfortunately the Akali commando was not so lucky and was knocked out by the doctor. Yasbir made his way up the table and positioned himself for the next turn.

- Shock Army turn 2 -

The Baghmari mixed team moved up avoiding the line of sight of the angry Taureg doctor and tried to spotlight him. after several failed attempts The minelayer regular place a mine and then with another order moved into line of sight of the doctor. Between the Combi rifle and the mine ( and a failed dodge) The doctor went down. The regular paramedic revived the Akali commando and grabbed some armour out of a panoply. The rest of the turn was spent shuffling around getting good lines of sight and filling Yasbir with bullets.

- Turn 3 haqqislam -

Realizing he had very little left and it was getting late PatrikMansuri Called it a night and we ended the battle there.

- Conclusion -

Oh man I though I was done when my Dragao went down. I was thinking to myself that there was no way to recoup his costs when most of the Haqqislam army was cheap fodder. Luckily due to remote presence my tag only went to Unconcious level 2 instead of fully dying which gave me an opportunity to duct tape him back together. I was also very luck to have dealt with the mutts in Aro, they had rolled super well for throwing smokes but i was able to land a few choice crits to save the day.

All in all a great game with an even better opponent! GGWP!
