Asteroid Blues

The quetionable events on the Battery Field between troops of the Combined Army and StarCo needed further investigation. Due to the contacts of the Silk Consortium, a hint towards Yu Ying intelligence service was given, as they were present but conservative in this theatre. As this kind of information and possible connections were highly classified and sensible, a not-directly-cover-up-mission was innitiated. When there was a need to lead a full armed force under the flag of the Silk Consortium into YuYing territory, then safe routs for the nearby Rewater Corp facility should be established.

Preparing for a quick alpha strike, the Qapu Khalqi troops deployed with a Ghulam team setting up on the right side between the chapel and the hut nearby. A little advanced on that side a Druze with KHD was ready to get things done. To overlook the enty-corridors, a Shihab-remote was set up on the top of a hut on the right side, backed by Yara with her SMR and an EVO-remote. On each side a camouflaged Hawwa started with the Djanbazan HMG in the center behind the chapel.
Not only trusting on their heavy armor, Yu Ying troops deployed safe and camouflaged, if possible. With a camouflaged trooper and a ZuYong guarding the left flank, some Zhanshis hid in the center. Two camouflaged troops took positions on the right tower and a Hsien HMG got ready behind the power-hub on the right edge.

A first valuable success was achieved by the Druze KHD, shooting a pitcher right next to the Hsien, and the Hawwa hacker, quickly immobilizing the Hsien. In good position, the KHD could secure the far right sector directly, supported by a Yuan Yuan. The same combination of pirate and Druze build an unbreakable defense on the narrow left flank.
Yu Ying command must had such a difficult approach in mind when sending out a Tiger soldier into the center of the theatre. But what they did not had in mind was the trusty Nikon of the haqqislamite Warcor, stunning the Tiger. This forced the Daofey to intervene, shooting down the Ghulam missile launcher, but taking two bad wounds from the sniper back. Grom the high ground of the tower the Guilang now started to rescue what was possible. First the pitcher was destroyed, then the Shihab-remote exploded. Freed from the sorrow of getting shut down, the Hsien approached into a better defensive position.
Both parties could stand their ground.

Out of this good starting position, the YuanYuan and the Djanbazan coordinated themself and forced the approached ZuYong back into cover, slightly wounded. Meanwhile the Hawwa made a short process with the Tiger in the center.
Again the Guilang showed his value on his position. After deniing safe paths to the haqqislamite forces, he quikly shot the sniper, crawled over his roof and had to forbear a laughter when he saw the Hawwa in his scope, trying to run any programms through the destroyed repeater. Two shots later, the hacker shared the fate of his repeater and the Guilang got back into camouflage. Now the Hsien took his revenge on the Druze with a single round of his HMG. A cleared path let him advance in the left haqqislamite sector.
Now YuYing could show its dominance.

Everyone in the Qapu Khalqi force felt the overslept chance. Not only the needed information could be gathered by now, the safe rout could not be established, too. In her anger, Yara kicked the Yuans ass and together with the now frightened Djanbazan, a break through into the Yu Ying territory was started. This time the Zuyong fell, while the Yuan was gunned down by a Daoying, leaving his camouflage. Now missing his buddy, the Djanbazan failed to identify the exact position of the Guilang. To stand the own ground, he retreated.
The Daoying knew, that his team stood his ground, but the attackers had to learn their lesson. So he advanced and made sure, the Djanbazan would not come back here. The first bullet hit his leg, the next one pierced his helmet and let him fall over.

The way back was a quiet drive. Nothing important could be achived at the moment. No new information could be gathered and a new route for the Rewater transports was not set up. But maybe something useful could be done with the pictures taken by the Warcors Nikon-camera. And maybe the small wire-tap the Yuan Yuan placed on the local YuYing staff in the chaos of the last attack would deliver new information. Everything will be shown when the time comes, Yara know. But what she also knew: The feisty Ghulam lt has to find a more balanced way to deal with her pirates. Such a sleepy approach was worse than seeing them arrive totally drunk.
