View Linked Report - CLICK HERE 300 POINTSMy opponent, a very experienced one, brought over his Haqqislam Qapu Khalgi sectorial list over to confront my Nomad Corregidor list for both of ours first battle of this new online campaign Asteroid Blues. It was a last minute spontaneous decision to meet, but we were able to scramble and make it happen.
I had fun setting up, and….. then everything went down hill from there. I thought I had covered my fire angles better, especially since my Tsyklon has 360 visor but I also forgot that this scenario allows you to bring off board AB troops even in deployment zone. Whoops on my part. But no matter my Tsyklon can handle the situation I said to myself…. nope. He basically overwhelmed my left flank with those damn Bashi Bazouks and then once he secured that area brought in his fire team core of Sekban’s.
On my right he was able to isolate my Mobile brigada with multi rifle, even though I killed the enemy model with the light flamer he was able to place an e mauler mine. Clever girl (think Jurassic Park here) he was, he then forced me to use my link to fend off his Sekban probe and off went the mine and of course I fail my roll and right off the back I start in loss of LT.
During my turn I walked on my Engineer Tomcat with Zondbot and promptly went to work spending my command tokens to restore my Mobile brigada back to health and with the few orders I had try and re position my troops and bring up my Daktari zondbot to try and restore my troops from unconsciousness. At least that was my plan.... it didn't work.
It just got worse as the turns went on, out maneuvered, out ordered, out rolled (of course he had the numbers to boot, but please the dice gods could have thrown me a bone).
It was, let us say, not my finest hour. But you know what? We were laughing and joking at the end and that's all that really matters to me. Thank god my real life is not like my hobby life (okay this is rolling sarcasm here).
