Indra made ready her Spitfire and readied her team to move into position, she sent Dhani a Naga minelayer and 2 of Ravi’s Proxies a FO variant and AHD TO variant ahead of the patrol, Ravi’s 3rd body a massive body with a HRL fell into his patrol position as point man if the team get contacted on the way in he’ll be able to take the brunt of attack while the others got into position to fire back, after him Ganesha a Deva carrying a boarding shotgun and access to assault programs and a devastating program called Lightening fell in behind him Indra took up her position behind him with Arya a Deva with a sensor, Satya the teams Sophotect and a Lamedh remote designation LR4811 fell in behind her, Indra also had authorization to use a Guarda Tacbot designation GT2519.

The Game

Andromeda tried getting through to Indra through their Nero-link as she approached a member of the team to arrest them but was only getting static back “Jammed god damn it, Druze don’t have the tech to do this” something appeared in the corner of her eye as if materializing out of thin air the unmistakable silhouette of an Anathematic, Cetus let out a roar and bared its metallic fangs as Andromeda tried backing away pulling out a Adhesive launcher she was going to use on the Druze member the Anathematic’s glowing red eyes fixed on her as she pulls the trigger the round completely missing, the Anathematic smirks while shouldering his plasma rifle letting lose a short volley which strikes Andromeda in the chest, wounded Andromeda tries desperately to alert Indra of what was coming, the Druze in an attempt to resist arrest raise their weapons one of them triggers a mine and is blown away, as part of the tunnel ceiling collapses on top of Andromeda and Cetus crushing them both.

Indra hearing the commotion and unable to raise Andromeda on comms moves up with her fire team, her eyes widen as she sees the anathematic, bringing her Spitfire to bear she attempts a shot, her rounds get lost in the darkness and the sinister silhouette of the anathematic disappears.

Ravi in her giant body moves up in an attempt to capture one of the Druze on a roof as it pulls the trigger part of the ceiling collapses Ravi bats the boulder away and the round misses it’s mark the Druze catches the hulking body with a round from his combi causing a wound, moving up again Ravi fires a 2nd round the Druze attempts to run but the adhesive hardens keeping him in place. Indra moves up onto a stair well with her team following behind, with 2 Druze in her sights she lets lose a volley from her adhesive launcher sticking both of them in place “The combined army are here get ready for counter attack”

Ravi scanning the area for targets sees a Taigha creature scurry toward the stationary Druze trooper on the roof, “Taighas!” Ravi shouts as he lets loose a rocket which blows the Taigha apart, another, bounds towards Indra who bludgeons the beast with the butt of her spitfire. Dhani is caught off guard by a Caliban which accurately hits him with a LRL his lifeless body burns in a heap on the floor. As she wipes the blood of the Taigha off her weapon Indra hears the low thud of something being launched and catches a repeater fly by and smash against a wall as she hears the 2nd thud she signals to Ganesha to get ready who quickly starts searching for beat of the a rival hacker in the network, finding Kerr-Nau’s unique line of code he unleashes the full force of his Lightening program which fails to do damage but deters Kerr-Nau from trying again. Ganesha is snapped out of the network by the sound of the Netrod exploding to the Caliban which moved up and the sound of assault pistols striking LR4811 taking it out, he aims his shotgun at where the assault pistol rounds had come from to see Ko-Dali round the corner he fires his shotgun repeatedly but can’t land any shots as Ko-Dali calmly sends a burst of assault pistol rounds back his way finishing him off.

Seeing his vitals disappear off her HUD Indra signals for GT2519 to come in behind Ko-Dali in an attempt to rid her off the back lines a plan that thankfully worked as the Tacbot pumps 2 rounds straight into centre mass of Ko-Dali dropping what was left of her body to the ground, Satya moves in to fix LR4811 a power surge nearly finished the little remote off but Satya’s expertise got it functional again. “Arya get rid of that repeater!” Indra shouts to Arya. Taking aim she destroys the repeater with ease and takes up a position observing a fire lane. Indra now free to move without hassle from Kerr-Nau moves into a firing position overlooking the Caliban and opens fire the rounds hit true but fails to penetrate his armor some more of the tunnel ceiling collapses around the noisy battlefield Indra manages to avoid being hit

“Push forward my minions, finish them but bring me the Asura, she is a prime selection for interrogation and Speculo replacement” Inspiring his troops a Daturazi lets out a mighty roar and beats his chest before charging forward toward one of the stationary Druze who now in a panic of screams and flailing manages to resist the Xeno ape, Arya catches his eye, bloodlust in his eyes he begins charging toward her while throwing smoke to cover his approach, while behind the smoke screen and the Asura looking the other way Kerr-Nau pushes up into Indra’s ZoC and with a few taps on his hacking device he throws up a white noise zone around her. Seeing this the Caliban moves around the building to the bottom of the stairs just as the crazed Daturazi reaches Arya, when he breaks through the smoke Arya accepts her fate and fires off her Nanopulser which blows through the Daturazi and hitting the Caliban behind him both bodies of the Xenos drop to the floor in a heap but not before the Daturazi sinks his pole arm into Arya’s neck and down into her chest a smile on her face as she falls back knowing she removed the threat. Hearing the scurry of another Taigha Ravi readies his FO proxy as it charges around the corner and pounces on Ravi he manages to avoid being bitten by hold its jaw open. Kerr-Nau seeing how fragile the tunnel is becoming attempts to run away with a prisoner.

“This place is collapsing time to pull back, grab who you can and meet at the RV point” Indra orders the team. Suddenly she sees Kerr-Nau attempting to flee, instead of trying to capture him she fires her Spitfire the darkness eating the rounds again but noise of the burst causes a giant collapse of the tunnel ceiling injuring Indra and knocking Kerr-Nau unconscious. Ravi wrestling with Taigha manages to break free and draw his pistol firing it into the creatures skull but not before being slashed deep in his neck moving his conscious into his bigger body he moves to grab a Druze member but sees the Anathematic as he crosses an alley way “I have it in my sight I’m taking the shot” as he’s about to fire one of the Druze runs out of a building and is surprised as he is caught in the crossfire of 2 giant bodies fighting it out he fires his viral pistol as rockets, plasma rounds and boulders fly around him somehow unscathed by it all he sees the giant body of Ravi move across the opening firing his SMG as the tunnel floor opens up swallowing him. Just as he fell Ravi transferred his consciousnesses into his final proxy and reveals it from hiding already aiming the adhesive launcher at the anathematic, firing, the round finds its target but fails to stick it in place.

“Time to pull back, apprehend the Druze eliminate the others, forget the Asura and regroup at the ship” the Aspect fires at the Druze in front him but takes accurate fire back damaging him, enraged he sprays his plasma rifle until it overheats toward the Druze cutting him down. The rest of the combined army group manage to grab the remaining prisoners and pull back.

Indra, Ravi, Satya and the bots manage to escape and meet at the RV point the rest of her team will be fine she always makes them back up there consciousness before a mission, they won’t have any memory of the firefight or their failure but she’ll get them up to speed and train them harder. She took comfort in the fact that they had at least caused a dent in the CA troops and it’ll be some time before they can amass a force to attack again, she’ll not be caught out like that again.

We played a custom mission a variation on Hunting Party but with neutral Druze which treated us both as enemies and had 360 visor and were all armed with combi rifles and viral pistols as well as their normal things, we had to capture and casevac them as well as capturing specialists and LTs which we both failed to do we kept the rest of the special rules from the Asteroid Blues which proved to be a lot of fun I think more troops were wounded or killed by treacherous terrain than anything else.
