A patrol from the Onyx Contact sub-faction stumbled across a patrol from the Ramah Taskforce sub-faction of Haqqislam. Much carnage ensued.

“The Legate led a fireteam of Morat Rodoks supported by Kerr-Nau, an E-Drone, a Med-Tech, and a Xeodron. Whirring about the patrol were the Ikadrons spreading the E-Drone’s invisible web further while the diminutive Slave Drones under the Med-Tech’s control kept pace with the lumbering Xeodron. As they approached the operation zone where the data terminals awaited, quiet sensory systems alerted the patrol to the enemy presence. Humans. They all seemed the same to the Legate but these mostly wore minimal armor and carried heavy weapons. The K-1 rifle he carried seemed excessive at this point but, regardless, he would not spare any of them.”

That was the plan going into the game. Ramah went aggressive and took the initiative closing the gap across the midfield where the Legate and Rodoks were already deployed. The Rodok wielding the HMG being taken down by a single crit set the tone for the game. The crits would flow like manna for the Ramah. Shots were exchanged back and forth with the Legate and various members of a Harris fireteam before one stumbled too close to the Ikadron and was hit with Exile from the E-Drone, isolating the member and breaking the team. A crit brings the Legate down.

Retaliating, Kerr-Nau launched a repeater into position to keep the Ramah core fireteam at bay after having seen Exile at work. The E-Drone attempted to break the team’s link before deciding to go defensive instead. The Rodok hacker crept along and took the left-most Communication Antenna. The Xeodron moved up to cover the right flank. Several troopers went into suppressive fire mode.

Apparently angered over the loss of the Harris team, a Khawarij armed with a Fatality 2 Spitfire (seriously, CB?!?) went on a rampage on the left flank. Crits on 1 flowed and flowed. In the end, the Rodoks were eliminated along with an Ikadron and Kerr-Nau. The Core fireteam moved further from the repeater and reset to avoid several Exile attempts.

With the Lieutenant downed, the remaining units shunted orders to try and take the Communication Antenna on the right flank. With a Super Jump the Xeodron closed to the antenna and deployed the Staldron who then wasted multiple valuable orders failing to push the buttons on the antenna successfully. Perhaps a stepstool would have helped. >_<

Once again the Fatal Spitfire activated and faced against the barely wounded Xeodron who countered with a Blitzen. THREE crits and the Xeodron fell inactive. Rapidly the E-Drone fell and Ramah moved units into position to take all 3 objectives.

In retreat, and with no one of consequence remaining, the Onyx patrol limped off of the field of battle.

Conclusions: It's hard to come back from getting hit with 8-9 crits in one game. Also, Fatality 2 on a Spitfire is ridiculous. T_T
