Asteroid Blues

Our forces arrived on the scene, ready to control the battlefield, when we spotted the aliens. It was the Tohaa.

Atalanta spotted a troublesome Nikoul watching over us.
"He's mine. No problem." She said in her icy cold voice.

We heard two shots and then silence.

"Atalanta...? Atalanta!?!" asked Hector over the radio.
"She's gone, sir." muttered Phoenix. The Nikoul got her with a critical hit.

Phoenix brought his heavy fireteam over to the left side. He knew he could deal with this bothersome Nikoul. He peeked out and fired three rockets at the Nikoul.

Phoenix fell lifeless. Another critical hit from the Nikoul.

Machaon throws an eclipse grenade to cover the team from the sniper's sight. Ajax, the datatracker, leaps out of the smoke and splits his shots between the designated target and a Taqeul officer who had a spitfire.

The target died but the Taqeul critically added a wound to Ajax.
Ajax tried once again the kill the Taqeul but only managed to gain another wound.

A Gao-Tarsos landed right by our other link team that had Thrasymedes and three Thorakites.

The Gao-Tarsos fired his boarding shotgun, killing two Thorakitai with a template but also getting a wound from the only Thorakitai shooting her submachine back and landing a critical hit.

The Gao-Tarsos fired once again and finished them off. Thrasymedes' team was no longer in the fight.

Hector started his rampage, firing his plasma rifle at every thing Tohaa. Even at long ranges, he managed to destroy everything. The entire enemy melted to death and Hector didn't gain a wound at all.

There stood on the empty battlefield, Hector, Machaon, Ajax and a single netrod.

The only sound that was heard in the end was the melting alien flesh...
