Lieutenant Rashida Ghali lay motionless against the wall, a bloody hole in her torso seeping blood. Breath-of-Life-002 rounded the corner at full speed and skidded to a stop in front of her. It dropped to its knees in front of her and focuses its optics on injuries.
Breath-of-Life-002 used its right arm to steady itself, digging in to the rocky ground, and its left arm moved towards the wound. Various needles and suture-torches extended from their casings and it inserted its hand in to the wound and began its work.
The Lieutenant's body gave a sudden jerk, and Breath-of-Life-002 detected a sudden decline in her vital signs. New orders entered its robotic mind as this information filtered to its controller. It pulled its hand back and retracted the needles and suture-torches, turned its hand 90 degrees to the left, and extended a vice-like tool-set. Its right hand dug deeper to give it better purchase, and it moved its hand instead to the base of the Lieutenant's neck to carry out its new orders: Cube retrieval.

This was an absolutely brutal game and by all rights should have been a victory for Shamash. I took an early and, ultimately, insurmountable lead by scrambling out to be in proximity to all four objective markers. Shamash then went on a incredibly bloody rampage with his Marut, who stomped around the table like Godzilla. It easily slaughtered half of my models, including my Lieutenant.
He moved his Marut towards my remaining models, and I wound up having a Khawarij close to base contact with a successful Engage. The Marut tried twice to slaughter the Khawarij with a CC Attack, only to lose both F2F rolls and fail both ARM saves. Not what either of us expected.
On my turn, the Khawarij did finally die when it failed to disengage from the Marut. The two remaining Khawarij used a coordinated order to catch the Marut in a crossfire, bringing the robotic terror down. This victory was slightly tainted by one of the Khawarij being annihilated by the Marut's ARO, though.
I basically won by head-butting Shamash in his swinging fist.
Guess his luck had to run out some time.
Oh! So close to bringing a Marut head for the Kawarij’s trophy room!
Hah, saw the title and was sure I knew the result. Way to pull off the win!
@theGricks Right? The moment I decided to try I knew it was a bad idea.
Cut-Cut…should have stayed engage. CC20+AP CCW nothing to scoff at.
Haha, the Humane slaughter each other. Sounds like a brutal game. Sometimes breaking the Hand with your head is the best way to win. Take it from a Morat! Thanks for the report.
These are the types of victories that feel almost like a loss when you see the casualties. Almost Pyrrhic you could say. Still, a wins a win!
Great job here! Luckily I don’t go often against this monster-TAG.
