aka Wild Bill's Late-Game Rampage

“I just don't like having him here. I don't trust him.”

Lieutenant Rashida Ghali looked up from where she sat cross-legged, her flamethrower in pieces as she inspected and cleaned it. She sighed. “You don't have to like it, Ekram. High Command needed to reinforce us, and this maniac was looking for a payday. Besides, I hear he's pretty good with those six-shooters.”

Ekram rolled his eyes. “But we've got reinforcements! We're being sent Khawarij – why can't we get more of them?”

“Because in case you haven't heard there's an alien invasion going on and it's taking a lot of the Armada's attention and resources, and for some reason it's slightly more important putting out elite forces on to Paradiso – which is the front line – than on to some smelly asteroid in the middle of nowhere. Besides,” she said, looking over where Wild Bill was telling a presumably-bawdy story to Jamila, “maybe he'll come in handy?”

Another TACOS game! We are really enjoying them.

In this one, I started off strong by scoring a three-point objective right off the bat. RazorsEdge moved quickly to counter, tying it up, but in the end I was able to wipe him off the board but still only score a 5 - 4 victory. That kind of ludicrously one-sided beating while *also* being only a marginal victory is something I really enjoy about Infinity.

We nearly tied it up, except Wild Bill was able to go on a bit of a rampage and kill his Lieutenant, scoring me a final objective and tipping it over to a victory. I was initially cautious about using Wild Bill since he's not particularly good at range, at least not with his pistols, but Marksmanship and Fatality do a lot to even out poor range.

Team photo! The Khawarij and Wild Bill are as yet unpainted.
The enemy! I can never remember which Yu Jing trooper is which so I'll make sure to attach RazorsEdge's army list.
The battlefield. I was going for a lot of tight corners and alleys with less elevation than normal. I want even *more* crates so I can make a true labyrinth.
I was able to secure a quick lead by having my Ghulan/Naffatun fireteam rush up and get within six inches of the HVT (silver model) and Intelligence Operative (black model)...
... while my Khawarij and Wild Bill got within six inches of the Console and Crate.
An early lead!
RazorsEdge grabbed one quick at the top of his turn with a Forward Observer.
And then a second by pulverizing a Nasmat.
Yeah, the Nasmat didn't survive an HMG barrage with these saves.
RazorsEdge got an HI model in to position on the walkway, but he and the fireteam just sprayed bullets at each other to no effect. I couldn't get him with a flamthrower because the HVT was in the way.
On my turn I needed to take out that HI, so I moved the Ghulam with a missile launcher in to position. It took _four entire orders_ plus another order to have the Ghulam Doctor patch up some bullet holes, but I finally got him. And yet RazorsEdge scored an objective on me...
The Ghulam with a missile launcher took multiple hits. Victorious in the end, but uuuugh.
The killing hit on the HI. A crit, and two hits, with AP+EXP DAM 14. That'll do it.
Flush with success, the missile launcher Ghulam leads her fireteam to lob some bombs at this other Yu Jing jerk. This one was much easier to kill.
I scored this one by accident, mostly by not moving the fireteam.
RazorsEdge moved a LI Forward Observer up to try to score an objective, but the missile launcher Ghulam completely murdered him with her pistol. I so rarely use pistols, but in this instance I wanted the range modifier over the more assured kill (but poorer chance to hit) of the missile launcher.
Tricky picture to make out because the Khawarij is so jet black, but he used cautious movement to sneak over to the Create (which is this tech console - I promise I'll find a better piece of terrain to use) and scored another objective.
At this point I wanted to take out RazorsEdges' last Forward Observer, and I also wanted to throw shots at his LT. The LT was on the other side of this guy, and so Wild Bill whipped around the corner and put a hole through his heart.
YEE HAW! This maniac peaked around the corner and delivered a DA hit to RazorsEdge's LT, dropping him handily. That was his last model.
My final objectives, totaling five points.
And the ones scored by RazorsEdge, totaling four points. (King of the Castle is worth three because it's hard to pull off, unless you put the objective markers down in a straight line like we did.)
Cat tax! Greg is very sleepy.
