Asteroid Blues

We knew our previous deployment at the Spaceport (see https://asteroidblues.warconsole.com/battles/sorbus-vs-rotfuchs-1569257572) was nothing more than a nice warmup party.. although Nomad forces might think otherwise.

This time, the 101st V.I.R.D. was deployed at the Logistics center to investigate a possible Shasvastii invasion. It did not take many efforts until alien contact was made...

(Again, we played the mission Unmasking with SpecOp's)

Our recon drones provided us with some intel of the battlefield:

This time I had the first active turn, but had to deploy first.

Of course the 101st V.I.R.D. was experienced enough to know a good first strike will be a key success factor in dealing with the E.I. scum.

The mighty Cutter TAG opened the battle by a surprise shot at the Q-Drone, which was desintegrated by the Multi-HMG

Next, the Fusilier discovered the TO-Camo marker reveiling the Anathematics... Immediately, the Kamau Sniper opened fire at this alien abomination and forced it into total cover causing two wounds.

Again the Cutter pushed forward, its footsteps echoing heavily in the entire area, spraying bullets at the enemies. A M-Drone and a HMG Morat were gunned down.

The TAG was in a frenzy and eliminated the dangerous taighas

The Kamau Sniper provided covering fire and killed a dodging Taigha creature

Finally, the TAG retreated and activated its cloaking device

As expected his impetuous creatures ran straight into the trap and were shot by the Kamau

A Daturazi advanced and covered his route in dense smoke

A Preta stormed forward but did not evade the precise shot of the Kamau Sniper

Despite the heavy losses, the combined army successfully revealed the designated target and the Anathematics (covered in a white noise zone) dealt out the killing blow. My Killer Hacker was not able to stop this slaughter

The Alien Commander ran out of orders and to my surprise had to leave many targets in the open

The Machinist proved his usefulness and shot the Umbra, who activated a console previously... anyway he can shoot better than repair stuff :-P

Next, the TAG dealt with the remaining enemies on my right flank.

Then the Core Link advanced and the Kamau struck down the Anathematics with his Submachine Gun

The remaining E.I. Troopers gathered close to the designated target protecting it... Nevertheless, the Core Link advanced and the Kamau killed a Target Decoy on the way

Close to retreat, the enemies could not advance anywhere so they dug in at the site of the designated target

The Kamau with the HRL proved his skills once again and shot two precise rockets at the enemy designated target.. The explosion consumed the HVT and a defending Morat

Thanks Tom for the fun game!

Although i had absolute fire priority, Tom scored 5 victory points by killing the designated target with his data tracker.

At the end of the game i scored 6 points for the designated target, more eliminated decoys and more consoles... A close call but a victory nontheless :-)
