'Damn, damn, and damn!' Shakti hissed to herself as she crouched low, the edge of the abandoned prefab building shielding her from the fire and light of the detonating Marut. She closed her eyes, sublimating her presence into the myriad drones and cameras watching the battle - or what was left of them. 'That's Beth down. We've already lost Hypatia and Indrah and Chandra is damaged. Get ready to pull back...'

'Pull back? Aaaaand why would we do that?' Damayanti replied over Maya, sounding a bit more insufferable than usual.

'Do -you- have a plan to salvage this?' Shakti snapped, watching the Khawarij physician get his comrades back on their feet through her eyes-in-the-sky.

'A plan? Oh. Oh I have a plan, yes.'

'No. Don't...'

'PLAN MAKE ONE ROBOT THE BESTEST ROBOT!'

Shakti sighed, dropping her face into her hands. She shook her head, and resignedly jumped back to her body to do her part for Plan Make One Robot The Bestest Robot, running firing-optimisation protocols on their shiniest and newest Dakini. With Assisted Fire, Damayanti assuming direct control, and telemetry from its comrades, the Dakini raised its machine gun, and blood flowed.

This was a bit of an odd one - a lousy deployment on my part gave thepoorman free rein to muck around grabbing TACOS cards, and then there was an awful lot of mucking about doing nothing on both sides, and then a fortuitous draw let me sneak ahead right at the end. I think I'm finally starting to understand fireteams!

The crew! I know, I know, unpainted models. I'm running out of excuses!
Initial deployment. Not pictured: The entire side of the board I left almost totally uncovered.
Here come the Khawarij!
This poor Deva Spitfirist didn't last long against them. Then thepoorman realised he needed to use -light- weapons to claim a TACOS card. So they killed Hypatia with a pistol. Why did I name her that..?
That there Al-Faseed and a Maghariba were watching over most of the board. The Dakini fireteam and the Marut made short work of them, and by 'short work' I mean the Marut needed like five orders of shooting before the TAG went down and she could go deal with the Khawarij.
And by 'deal with the Khawarij' I mean 'cause superficial damage while getting totally destroyed in a hail of crits.'
The Maghariba got completely disabled in an attempt to repair it. The Khawarij took a few potshots at the Dakini team and got critted for their trouble. And Greg came to visit!
Lieutenant Rashida over there had a very inconclusive gunfight with an Asura Hacker.
Going into the last turn, I had two points to thepoorman's three - and the draw for objective cards gave me 'kill something with a gun' and 'kill a remote.' Hey Nasmat! Catch! And thus was the day won.
