Asteroid Blues

Rhona was nervous about her first mission since signing up for the spec-ops training program but anything had to be better then scrapping by on odd jobs. With the training program she could easily get skill for the future... if she could just stay in one piece of course. Word was that the alien spooks had infiltrated the Ariadna troops ranks and something funny was going down in their sector of the big rock. Time to earn her paycheck... she just hoped to live to cash it!

Ariadna forces had deployed a Blackjack on the left flank along with shadows that were undoubtedly lurking Antipedes. The rest of the Ariadna were spread out mostly in cover or out of sight. With the enemies forces setting up for battle the Nomad commander gave out his orders for deployment.

The two Geckos made use of their zero-g abilities to set up a flanking maneuver through the use of connecting airlock passage, while the Grenzer took the top of a tower structure overlooking the enemies approach. Miss Kitty the Daktari decided to join him for company and to keep him up and healthy. An Alguacil trooper took up position on a lower part of the tower also. The Mobile Brigada commander took cover behind the building on the right side while the rest of the Alguacil troops along with a Reverend Healer, took cover in the center ruins.

The enemy wasted no time and advanced rapidly. The Antipodes raced toward the Grenzer sniper coming around the left side and despite being spotted and shot at they rapidly jumped up the tower taking out the trooper in the way before being stunned for a moment after two of them went down from ARO fire. But then an Ariadna medic shot them back up with medical darts before he went down from ARO fire. With the Antipodes back up they continued up the tower taking out the sniper and later the poor cat girl nurse next to him. The rest of the enemies advance was largely halted by good old Nomad ARO. Except for a hacker agent that took over the antenna on the right while a FO trooper got the over one on the left for Ariadna. The Spektr then made its move from the shadows and in a blast of fire shot down the Ariadna hacker on the right side antenna. Then the Geckos entered from the right flank and proceeded to wreck them from the side.

The next few moments were a blood bath. The Antipodes were revived yet again from and Ariadna medic with a shot of medical dart, before being shot down from Nomad ARO. They then proceeded to jump down to attack before being stopped by Nomad ARO. With just a few troops left a angry dog warrior rushed the ruins and rampaged through the Nomad troops in the center. The last trooper in the center held off for dog warrior for a while but he relentlessly attacked and she could not dodge him before being taken out. The Mobile Brigada commander tried to bring to coving fire but was taken out by enemy fire. Meanwhile the Spectr made a dash for the antenna on the right but failed and was shot down. The Gecko's advanced firing away slowly clearing away enemies in the way to the antenna on the right side. With the commander down as well as everyone else the lead Gecko moved up and jumped out to reconnect to the right antenna for the Nomads while using TAG for cover until it was blown away and the pilot was taken down as well just leaving one Gecko armed with a Mk12 to make a fighting withdrawal in utter defeat.

Still dazed Rhona awoke with a Gecko pilot looking over her, holding a badly scratched up medical gun. She had a sinking feeling the mission had not gone well. The pilot waved to her to get moving as he boarded his TAG and used it too grab the last of the wounded Nomads. This was not the easy start of her career she was hoping for.
