Achilles's Heel

Nomads
Prophet of Doom
VS ALEPH
Michael 0G

The Corregidor combat groups went into the pharmacy part of the Main Strip, intent on raiding it for vital medical supplies for the oncoming conflict.

Unfortunately, Nomad’s arch enemy, the Aleph, had gotten intelligence of the raid and intervened, sending their finest troopers. Achilles himself was leading a group of Dakini battle robots and the feared Asura was also present to deter any Nomad attempts of hacking.

The main part of the battle took place on it’s right flank.
Opening the hostilities, the Sniper of the Alguacil team placed on a rooftop in the center of the board, spotted and engaged with the out-of-control Wild Bill training bot. The bot showed off the Aristo’s true grit and downed the sniper despite using a weapon much less suited for long ranged combat than the MULTI Sniper rifle. the contender hit its mark, the sniper went down and the link was broken.

The Intruder on the right side realised that he had to intervene to save the day. McMurrough had just radioed in warning of Achilles’ presence on the right flank. He had managed to block the view by throwing smoke in front of the homeric warrior. Leaving his initial position, the Intruder fired two bursts at the far away Wild Bill bot on the other flank of the battle field. Even though the bot was out of range even of his powerful HMG, the Intruder managed to destroy the bot.

Leaving the building, the Intruder spotted Achilles through the smoke, aided by his sophisticated multispectral visor. bullets whizzed past McMurrough and Achilles was wounded, but still standing. The Intruder seized the opportunity, shooting at Achilles again and again, but the homeric posthuman was still on his feet and escaped from the Intruders’ view.

McMurrough pondered whether he should attack the Asura or go after Achilles and kill him. The glory of downing the famous Greek was too tempting, so McMurrough jumped to the other side of the battlefield, raised his templar weapon and was duly sliced by Achille’s sword. Due to the dog warriors incredible endurance, he was still standing.

A bandit assault hacker opened the tech coffin on the right flank and snuck away with a suppy box. The other Bandit supported him by attacking the Naga who had revealed his postition to shoot at the fleeing hacker. The Naga fell unconscious, but the Bandit had not realised that he was within the Asura’s sight. The Asura rendered the Bandit unconscious as he unloaded his shotgun at the Naga.

Achilles lashed out against the Dog mercenary, raging in pain. McMurrough easily evaded this clumsy attempt at his life and retaliated, cutting down Achilles. The mighty hero was down! Achilles was dead! Since machines don’t have emotions, no one on the Aleph side cared for this loss.

The Asura, however, calculated the danger posed by a wounded McMurrough and went around the building, spraying McMurrough with lead. An unfortunate bullet sent McMurrough to the unconsciousness that he was already so used to.

Before this task, she coordinated an attack with two tac bots against the Alguacil team. Three Alguaciles were cut down, including the one with the missile launcher. The Corregidor forces had no counter to the super hard armour of the Asura.

The Asura went out in pursuit of the supply box stolen by the bandit. She detected the bandit via her hacker matrix, and overloaded his brain with electronic impulses to the point of unconsciousness. She exchanged gunfire with the Intruder, managing to down him as well.

A Tomcat doctor saved the day by jumping in from behind the lines, healing both the Bandit and the Intruder. the Intruder engaged the Asura again, causing wounds on the Asura, but in return got hit by the nanopulser. The Tomcat had to patch him up again.

On the other side of the battlefield, a Jaguar covered the left flank tech coffin with smoke, so that the Moran FO could get to the coffin unseen and claim the supply box.

A yudbot healed the Naga so that the skirmisher could open the central coffin and get a supply box out of it.

Corregidor losses were high. Questionable whether the loss of life had been worth the supplies. Maybe the medicine would be able to safe more Nomad lives, so the sacrifice had not only been noble, but also purposeful.
