Vanilla Yu Jing vs Vanilla Nomads – Engineering Deck

Nik’s Yu Jing and Hellbringer’s Nomad’s meet again, and this time both sides had similar strategies. They tried to fill the field with units, after deployment was over there were a total of 39 models on the field providing 50 orders if you include the impetuous ones.

Yu Jing took the initiative and sent their impetuous chain rifles towards midfield. The Shaolin Monks were able to lay down a thorough smoke screen allowing the Rui Shi to move up the field at it’s leisure. The Rui Shi msv2 spitfire tore down the sideline behind smoke and killed the flash pulse remote, warcor, dr. bot, the double chain rifle krakot, 2 morlocks, and a third morlock in reactive during the next impetuous phase. With the last few orders Tai Sheng bopped a button and the team coordinated some suppressing fire. The Nomads retaliated in true nomad fashion, with a hacking attack. The rui shi remote brought it’s repeater too close to the Nomad’s Interventor, and YJ’s Lt. hacker was out of camo. The Interventor inched forward behind cover and went for the hack attack. YJ’s Guilang assault hacker revealed to try and defend the Lt., but the Interventor ignored the new assault hacker and went for a sucker punch on her main target. Luck was on Yj’s side though as the Lt was able to avoid the attack and the Guilang suceeded with carbonite and put the Interventor into Imm-1 for the rest of the turn. The Hollow Men moved over to take out the Rui Shi, and then the Bandit took over shotgunning the YJ sensor remote, hitting a monk in the spray.

YJ took the next round easy and spent most of their orders maneuvering and re-camouflaging. All of the action went to the Libertos, who crit the Bandit in a shotgun duel and then stomped on his head to complete a classified. The Nomad’s round 2 was a bit more exciting as they decided to reveal their Intruder hmg. It was able to gun down multiple impetuous troops and take out the YJ total reaction remote with a surprise shot. Then they did some maneuvering before coordinating some suppressing fire of their own.

Round 3 for YJ was a close call all around. With limited orders left they attempted to control the room, hit a 2nd button, and complete their last classified. The Nomad sensor bot had other plans though as it flash pulsed Tai Sheng and the Haidao engineer. This prevented the engineer from hitting his button and the -3 from stunned kept Tai Sheng failing his civVac rolls on the HVT. A Monk and the liason officer Zencha were able to sneak into the objective room. A Kuang shi was fortunate to chain rifle the Intruder hmg, and with their last order the Guilang hacker left camo and cover to hit a button. The Nomads were 1 pt away from retreat and their orders were tight. The Interventor left her hole, gunning down the libertos on her way to hit the Nomad’s first button. Unfortunately the orders fell short and they weren’t able to grab the room or any other buttons.
