Stardate 5246:583 Commisioner’s log. This is the report of Mike – known as “The scrivener”.

A lot of outside personal, particularly from Haqqislam and Tohaa have reported to me a combined infestation of Ariadna High Command. So far I’ve taken these reports with a grain of salt as tensions between the three have been high.

Today I took a small patrol into the Ammunition and Supplies Module and now I don’t know what to think. The sector I took my men into was dark and everything seemed dusty and untended to. Almost immediately the stench of something non-human living in the area was made apparent. Distant howls and shuffles could be heard, it was made abundantly clear a non-stealthy enemy was attempting to ambush us.

Morats. They came from the crates, from the rafters, from everywhere. I knew why there were here too – there was a large ammo dump in the middle of this sector they wanted to sabotage or steal.

They got the jump on us. Before I knew it a fire team of Datarazzi approached the ammo dump and brought down the entire wall of the facility. They shuffled inside and made way for a Plasma rifle remote that parked itself in the center of the room. A Raicho made itself known and launched a mine into the room but failed. My lynx, (damn she was a good soldier, I’ll have to let her family know what a hero she was) made her way to the right flank, still in cameflague. With her experimental weapon she opened fire, hitting the remote and and spraying 3 Datarazzi with hot plasma. She was critically injured in return by the remote but for the most part her shots found their mark and reduced the Morats to hot slag. Under the cover of smoke, our Omega class Heavy Infantry ran into the room to try and secure it, not knowing that there were Morats still inside. Our Gangbuster units, with their Madtraps moved to cover any further approach.

With angry fervor, the remaining Morats rushed forward into our Omega. One crushed him in CC, but his armor held as the Morat was disabled by a Madtrap. Now distracted, the Omega was forced to fight the other one with his knife since his rifle was no longer calibrated for this range. The Omega stabbed the Morat in the throat. A small bot resembling a worm was able to make it into contact with the immobilized Morat and burned off all of our glue. The close quarters fight resumed and I’m sorry to report that the Omega was killed after a struggle, the bot went on to fix the damaged remote. The Raicho once again moved up, to attempt to cover more of the Supply room. Our Varangian mercenaries we’re able to move in and lay down some smoke cover. Our Epsilon class trooper moved in and shot down the lone Morat, but when he engaged the Remote, once again, another one of our troopers was critically injured as the Epsilon was sprayed with hot plasma. Cube resurrection not possible. A gangbuster moved in and destroyed the remote along with the worm that kept repairing the enemy.

The Raicho moved in and knocked the gangbuster out of commision. Varangian Guard were able to quickly counter attack by laying down smoke coverage and doing what they do best. Close combat. One was killed by the Raicho in return. Finally our calls for reinforcements got through and a delta showed up – being versed in medicine he tended to our wounded and resuscitated the Gangbuster. The Morats were severely out numbered now and retreated further into the sector – while we have dominated this ammo dump, I’m ordering more troops to station here and ordering another detachment to follow the Combined deeper into the Ariadna territory.

I’ll file formal reports with anything I find. I only worry about how deep this infestation goes – and more importantly – what is the cause of it.
