Asteroid Blues

Following their previous operation into the PanOceania territory of the Spaceport, the Dahshat forces attempted to extract without being contacted by the local PanO forces. They were not successful as a contingent of Military Orders intercepted them to devastating effect.

"Gromoz, your team will take point. Let's try and get out of this area and back to the Bar with no contacts" said Miranda Ashcroft over the group chat. "Acknowledged" Valerya Gromoz replied, directing Sushi the Rui Shi to take the lead.

"Whzzzz whhzzz" Sushi had detected targets ahead. "We have PanO targets ahead, Miss Ashcroft" Gromoz said calmly over the group chat. "Can I get your assistance McMurrough, Sushi is detecting less targets then i'm getting, they could have an Albedo trooper".

McMurrough advanced forward quickly, his superhuman physique allowing him to quickly close with the suspected enemy locations. As he rounded a large turbine he threw his first grenade. The grenade found its mark, but only resulted in the PanO target shimmering out of existence. "Holoechoes" McMurrough growled.

Continuing his advance McMurrough found the discrepancy in Sushi's targets; a Black Friar using Albedo to mask his presence from the MSV equipped Rui Shi remote. "Found you!" McMurrough yelled as he threw his second grenade, felling the Black Friar. As McMurrough was about to continue his advance he was stopped by a yell from Gromoz. "Stop! McMurrough, that Black Friar managed to get out a Drop Bear, it's pointed right at you".

"I'll get it" said the nearby Libertos Freedom Fighter in hiding. Before anyone could respond, the strange alien lifeform rushed forward. It was a suicide mission. Right in front of the Libertos was a Knight of the Holy Sepulchre, as the Knight opened fire the Libertos managed to dodge the incoming fire, getting closer and closer to his mission. But they were not alone. As the Libertos moved further forward an Order Sergeant emerged nearby, previously hidden by his TO camouflage. Moments later, the Libertos gurgled his last breath.

"Damn those little fishy things!" said McMurrough. "We're going to need some extra assistance over here, we've got some heavy firepower pinning us down". McMurrough was talking about a missile-equipped fire team that had emerged on a centrally located bridge.

"I'm on it" said the teams sniper expert; an MSV equipped Brawler. Lining up a shot against the targets location, she blinked. They'd moved! Scanning desperately she found her target, he had moved to take up a firing position against her. She fired in desperation, hoping to stop the target before she herself was taken down. She was too late, moments later a missile streaked into her position, taking her and a nearby bounty hunter down and out of action.

"Gromoz, the sniper support is down, your team is going to have to take point again. Get McMurrough to put some smoke down to cover your advance" said Miranda. They'd practiced this manoeuvre countless times and it showed. McMurrough threw a smoke grenade, causing the nearby drop bear to explode but only causing superficial scratches. Sushi, using the smoke as cover, took the lead and scuttled up onto the nearby turbine firing its twin-barreled spitfire at the Knight of the Holy Sepulchre as it moved. The knight slumped in a pool of his own blood. "Wzzz wz", Sushi confirmed the kill. Gromoz fire team, now bulked up with some Bounty Hunters, followed behind Sushi and took cover behind a nearby holowall.

The enemy fire team had repositioned. A missile streaked its way towards Sushi, the Rui Shi remote valiantly tried to fire back but it was ineffective. The firefight didn't last long. With Sushi down, and fire coming in from two sides, Gromoz and her point team were decimated.

The surviving Dahshat mercenaries rushed forwards in a last-ditch attempt at pulling the battle in their favour. Although failure was not an option for them, it happened none the less. The PanOceania force had successfully defeated the Dahshat trespassers.

Later on in NA2 territory. "Commander! The team never reached the extraction point" said a member of HQ staff. "Go in and retrieve the important ones... Time for me to call in some favours..." replied the man known only as Lazarus56.
