Asteroid Blues

- Many of my readers will be glad that I can finally say that I have seen an Asura in action and close. This happened in the Xarkas Battery Field where I set up camp not far from the road in a small hill that give me a decent view of the massive guns that Ariadna was using to light up the sky and burn down almost anything that got too close without a permit. I was making for dinner one of those bad tasting but filling MREs that some Grunts easily sell for some dirty footage to jack off when one of my Drones activated and the echo of bullets flying came from a valley on the north of the field. I knew it was not far and my credits were low enough to make start running directly into the violent sounds leaving the food half heated and almost intact.

I reach the valley and crouch into a small crater on the ground while my drone did the first reconnaissance. It was a small contingent of Aleph troops, all from the OperatinonS sectorial aided by a couple of hired guns (Bounty hunters and CSUs), against a large force of Hassasin Barham soldiers.

The numbers where on the Jaqquislamite site but we all know that Aleph never lacks of quality regardless of the number so this will be a tough fight for any side.

Aleph Forces hastily assessed the situation and took the initiative, a Yadu Fireteam started the body count as they advanced from the left while shooting down any opposition the encountered. First, a couple of snipers, then some guy trying to pick up a panzerfaust.

Then one of those Proxys cocoons started moving to some console and in the process got hurt by one of those stones with the speed of a bullet that fly on the high flat surfaces of this asteroid. The Yadu fireteam reached the hurt body of the Proxy. And with them, a Deva medic started treating him! You read right, there was a weird Deva playing doctor quite effectively. The Yadus keep on moving forward, eventually killing something more behind a small building and then start backing up because the Jaqqislam Army started to get aggressive.

The Hassassin push was good but probably not as effective they thought it would be. Mistakes where made as smoke grenades failed to be dropped while a Proxy sniper materialized from nothing in a ceiling and started to pop off heads of anyone that impetuously move into her killzone. Eventually the Proxy sniper was killed because to some incredible shots of a ghulam HMG in a fire team and a Yadu fell unconscious but no before taking with them an enemy while the Deva fall back into cover.

The battle was tense, the left side of the battleground was in a stalemate, anything that moved would be wiped out in an instant. And then I saw her, the Asura started advancing form the right with a terrifying rhythm. Must say that is quite an experience, looking at that body, move through the battlefield with no doubt or emotion unleashing bullets with a stone but beneath a sense of joy can be discovered. The Asura finally stopped its advance after killing at least 3 enemies but got stuck against an enemy with a shotgun that eventually fell down but not before hurting the pristine body of the deadly Asura.

The Hassasin force decided to regroup and recover some ground. They carefully looked for advantage positions, moved into them and shoot down for good the only Yadu alive. Afterwards they try to heal some units and one of the snipers did not make it. Then Fireteam decided to advance and make some pressure on the remaining Aleph forces.

The time was running out before someone started to show up after all that noise and so the Asura, wounded but functional cleaned the left side of the battleground so the remaining proxy could advance and mark some objectives with ease.

After all the firefight won, the enemies killed and the shot survived the asura was surprised by an enemy impersonator that did not managed to hit her but instead cut open a pipe that ignited and finally ended her life.

At the end the main aggressors of the Aleph forces were down and the Jaqquislamite forces started to make mark objectives with ease and destroyed only one as the guy with the missile launcher was rather incompetent. Meanwhile the Bounty hunters and CSUs just hold their ground before retreating, incapable or advancing without fear or doubt. Leaving the las Proxy defending the right side consoles.

The skirmish ended in an instant, Jaquisalmite forces had held their ground while the remaining Aleph forces retreated.

Well that's something short but I have to left you wishing more and don't worry, things around this floating stone are going to get as ugly as one of those used Nomad Furries. Argus saved the file and sent it. He looked forward and saw on the horizon, cramped between mountains and caves, the giant buildings that the many factions have managed to build in this asteroid. He pick up his belongings and prepare to continue his quest to find about Aoide, but before he needed a decent place to set up himself and take a shower, he hadn't take one in at least eight earth days.
