Asteroid Blues

Again Aleph intervenes in our operation. While we work hard to liberate sentient beings of the sphere Aleph forces work hard to stop us. Last engagement in the Chimneys wasn't enough for them, they want more!

As always command sent a trusty team of unidrons to fulfil the goals of the current mission. They deployed on the left with R-Drone to provide info support. Nexus lieutenant is lying prone on the roof of the central tower where he can observe the battlefield and assess the battle situation. E-Drone moved into a secure position on the right to provide general info-support. Sphinx hid near E-Drone, prepared to move and eliminate the enemy as soon as possible.
Marut deployed on the left in total cover (Aleph remember how our forces destroyed its copy last time!) with myrmidon ready to cover an area in smoke. Couple camo takens deployed in midfield. Arjuna and the bots deployed in the middle. Engineer, netrod, samekh rebot and proxy FO deployed on the right.

We started our turn with dropping Fraacta on the right tower in the Aleph side of the table. Fraacta landed successfully but hidden proxy sniper hit her with nanopulser and Fraacta was farced to transmute. Team unidron tried to shoot sniper from the bridge but poor visibility conditions forced shot to miss. Fraacta tried to back away and shoot sniper but was shot with a pistol in process and went unconscious. Not a good start. I guess it is time to release the Kra- khm Sphinx. Sphinx left his position and moved to the tower were Fraacta met her demise. Long story short Sphinx spends rest of the orders and burns to the ground sniper, samekh rebot, proxy FO and puts proxy engineer into NWI.
Aleph turn started with putting smoke near Marut. Marut moved out and destroyed R-drone. Marut continued to move to the right and destroyed Sphinx in a few orders. Being in cover and saturation zone saves Sphinx for a while but his destruction was inevitable.

We need to destroy Marut, there is no other way. Team unidron and Kerr-Nau moves forward. Kerr-Nau successfully puts a repeater near Marut and places White Noise. Nexus lieutenant tries to hack Marut with Overlord but fails. Team unidron with unidron spitfire as team leader moves forward to shoot down Marut. First exchange proves successful and unidron deals two wounds to Marut. In second exchange Marut crits and unidron is obliterated. Well, looks like Marut is here to stay. Next unidrons discover naga KHD but failed to kill it.
Aleph moves naga KHD to designate antenna; Kerr-Nau reacts immediately with Redrum, kills naga KHD but the antenna is designated! Myrmidon is moving forward and puts covering smoke for Arjuna to approach. Arjuna moves forward with bots; sprays unidrons with E/Marat. They failed the dodge but made all the BTS saves. Arjuna peeks from the smoke and shoots the designated target. Designated target fails to dodge and dies; unidron misses its ARO! Naga FO peeks from the corner and designates the second antenna; unidron misses its ARO! Marut moves forward and destroys unidron sniper.

We have to deal with Arjuna and take those antennas back. Unidron goes and shoots one of the Arjuna's bots. Unidron crits; destroys the bot; Arjuna misses its shotgun shot and got hit by the template and dies. Unidrons get hit by E/Marat and one of them is isolated and immobilised. The surviving unidron designates two antennas.
Naga FO peeks to designate antenna back but gets shot by unidron and dies. There are not enough orders for the engineer to go and designate enough antennas. He reaches one but failed to designate it.

The game ends 4 - 3 in Aleph favour (since they killed designated target with datatracker)
