So it begins… a new campaign, and for me, a whole new Infinity group as I moved cross country (the United States, specifically) from Portland, Oregon to Orlando, Florida. Happily most of my models were undamaged, but since it’s been a while for an Infinity game, I decided to go back to my roots and join the glorious Nomads!

We lost the WIP roll and my opponent chose to go first. I picked a side, both were pretty equal I think, and waited for him to deploy. Meanwhile I got out my list…and desperately tried to remember which Nomads were which. Having worked that out it was my turn to deploy.

Reactive Turn 1:
We lost a Moran and Koalas… not really all that bad actually. Patsy aced a dodge for the Koala’s then just wrecked the Moran. He repositioned a bit to get his Kamau/Patsy team all sorted out. Oh and we lost a member of the link team. Most everything else was moving to reposition.

Active Turn 1:
LAUNCH ALL HELLCATS! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Okay… first one missed landing… dead… second one missed landing… dead… 3rd one… landed off table and right back in my deployment zone… 4th one. Nailed it! You know what they say 3 times rolling over 15 and you’re bound to… uh… Well… That plan did not go well. Send out the Tsyklon Feurbach to teach Patsy a lesson in… destroying Tsyklon Feurbachs… Well at least she’s hacked immobile for a round and I shot one of her Kamau’s so she’s at regular burst.

Reactive Turn 2:
Lost the Salyut and the Reaktion Zond. Not good so far. I don’t think we lost much else this round… he had to come pretty close to my deployment zone to get shots at my already heavily wounded forces.

Active Turn 2:
Dropped the Tomcat and managed to blast a hole in the trooper that took out my Salyut. Then tried to bring the Hellcat BSG that had gone off the table to take out a Kamau. If I’m remembering correctly they both missed each other, but I could be wrong on that. I am very much out of orders at this point.

Reactive Turn 3:
Patsy has made it to my deployment zone… there were no survivors. First Lt Fusilier who was supposed to stay safely behind the KO’d Tsyklon, then the hellcat and the other two Alguaciles.

Active Turn 3:
Okay… starting the turn with two irregular orders to my name… Uh… Moran! Shoot Patsy in the back with that Combi Rifle… Holy crap! HITS?! 2 wounds?! WOOOO! After doing the math on the game it wasn’t a major defeat! And that’s actually pretty good for my first game back in a long while!

Aftermath:
Overall I still think it’s a very fun list. It’s got some good tools, I just could not land my jump troopers to save my life. I do think I may try it again, but just swap some stuff up. Other than that it’s pretty standard getting back into Infinity stuff, remembering which range bands are better, which match ups have better odds etc. I’ve missed Infinity though so it’s good.
