Post-incident analysis.
Executive summary: Failure to adhere to initial battle plan led to unnecessary loss of combat resources.

Command Unit gained initiative allowing it to take first actions but Tunguska units were able to deploy in response to OSS deployment.

Turn #1
Sophotect advanced on left flank to antenna base while Proxy #1 Engineer advanced on antenna on right flank. The Sophotect was injured by hostile terrain and spent the rest of the game in NWI. The core team of Dakinis, Deva, and Samekh advanced towards the nearest central antenna. At this point, Sophotect and Engineer were supposed to attach d-charges to antennas for later destruction. This would ensure that Tunguska forces would not be able to utilize the antennas. However, the Engineer, (the group Data Tracker) detected the enemy HVT and advanced rapidly to destroy it. The HVT survived two nanopulsar blasts. With limited orders, it was decided to leave the Engineer in position to destroy the HVT next turn. The fire team advanced up the middle, along with the Asura LT. designating a total of three antennas.

Tunguska responded by sending a Haris team up my right flank to eliminate the engineer through a drop bear. Then a Kriza advanced towards the right flank to eliminate the exposed Asura and then our own HVT in turn, despite intervention by a Dasyu. The securitate fire team on the left flank eliminated the Mark 4 proxy with long range fire. Tunguska puppeteers then designated four antennas, including one previously designated by OSS.

Turn #2
Without the Asura LT, coordination was not possible. The Dasyu was able to designate four antennas and the Samekh destroyed a previously designated antenna.

The Tunguska response was to attempt to designate antennas with a Grenzer, but this was prevented by a previously undetected Naga that killed the Grenzer. However, the combined efforts of the Securitate fire team and the puppeteers eliminated the Naga and then designated and destroyed two antennas.

Turn #3
The last effort of the OSS was a Dakini sniper destroying one antenna while damaging another antenna and a puppet bot.

Tunguskas last act was to advance further up the right flank under smoke and terrain cover to destroy the last target antenna. The Kriza was destroyed with a missile from the Samekh and the Stempler was destroyed by the hostile terrain in the process.

The failure to prevent the enemy forces from accomplishing their mission was due mainly to the failure to preemptively destroy the nearest antennas with pre-placed d-charges. Defeat was further caused by failure to eliminate the HVT, an act that in post-battle analysis would have been worth the expenditure of further orders.

Nice to see the Asura get some action. Mine almost never gets fielded, except as a proxy.

    ¡No pasarán!

When eyeballing the range on the shot at the Mk 4 I figured it was certainly outside of his good band. At that point my Feuerbachs still had 5 man bonuses, and I had one order left. A quick look at the range bands of the Feuerbach vs the HRL and and I felt comfortable taking the shot. It ended up being 45″ so in total I was on straight BS, while the Mk4 was at -6.

I just got lucky when he failed both saves from my one hit.

Sounds like it didn’t take too many orders to drop the Proxy Mk4… it always takes me waaaaay tooooo maaaanyy…..

Hooray for Jfunkd, and thanks for the report, Command Unit 0001434KA!

Nomads wins. Such sweet but grammatically questionable words.
