Subgroup 14NB was sent to rest for some days after the traumatizing events in the tunnes of the Battery Field. It felt strange to be set aside in empty barracks, where everyone else in the Hangar Area was on duty and fulfilling their orders. So busy with other things, an unforseen intruder-alert saw nobody else available then the rest of the 14NB force and some other resting soldiers under Quapu Khalqi command.
First reports spoke from a small YuYing force in the outer parts of the Hangar Area with unclear direction and intentions, so mainly a team of Ghulams, two Druze and a Hawwa started together with an Azrail to clarify the situation. If the YuYing soldiers would be harmful, a Bashi Bazouk should end all their attempts quickly.
Even before the first direct contact, security systems noted heavy armed soldiers in the ranks of the foreign force and only few moments later the initial order was changed from an official of the Silk Consortium: Eleminate everyone and make sure that no information leaves this area!
So the Ghulams scattered around the street behind the Azrail and the Druze-team securing the right flank. With the Haqqislam-force in sight, the support troops hide themselfes behind buildings on the left, while two Hsiens and one Terracottasoldier went on the right flank.
Without support, the enemy force should be paralyzed, so the Bashi Bazouk took his chance and three silhouettes appeared on the far left flank. Under fire first one, than the second image disappeared and paired with the cry of death from a Zanshi the Bashi Bazouk fell. Secured by its camouflage, the Hawwa approached on the same flank, while the Azrail searched for additional equipment in the spread ammonition-boxes.
The first approach directly was punished by the Hsiens HMG. After taking first injuries, the Azrail retreated into full cover, which gave the trio of heavy infantery enough space to set up a network of suppressing fire in the center of the battlefield.
Covered by traffic, the Ghulams had to get things done. From the best position available but with shaking hands, the Sniper took great efforts in grounding the Hsien HMG, which left no ressources to get rid of other targets.
This intense shootout left the space the other Hsien needed to come along the building on the right flank, attacking the Druze with the grenade launcher. In best position the grenadelauncher goes to the Druzes shoulder, knowing that he can freeze his target. But before triggering, two hits split up his helmet and the underlying skull. Just three shots more and the Azrail went down to Hsiens MULTI-rifle, too.
The pressure kept high for the Ghulam-team. Sneaking through traffic, a successfull hit from the Sniper wounded the Zuyong, but only forced him into cover. The last ressources were not enough to harrass the Hsien, so everybody set up for defense and the Hawwa grabbed some additional armour from a panoply. But even this additional armour could not save him from the approaching Zuyong. After killing the infiltrator, the only way for the Quapu Khalqi-force out was the retreat, leaving the YuYing-agents behind.
The young Ghulam-Lt never talked much to the mysterious Druze-soldiers in the group, but this time, the Druze gunner approached her, laying her hand on her shoulder: "Don't harm yourself, this outcome was set even before we got our orders. Accept your fate. Since we got out of this alive, god has other plans for us. Maybe even worse plans, maybe more fortune.'
Homemade terrain, but with painted minis, it works !
Poetic wrap-up dialogue, well written!
Yes, he did. See next battle report…
Nice papercraft cars! You get him next time!
The terrain is mostly done out of foam (hd). With a foamcutter available, we have pretty much of that stuff.
@Danger Rose: War and special operations have their own rules for rest, so see the force available! At the moment a spec-op team is on his way to correct past mistakes.
Nice report and cool looking board.
In the name of HHC, I apologize for taking your team out of their down time. I’ll do what I can to make it up to you…
Wait, wait…
Uhmmm… How fast can your troops get ready for redeployment?
I really like that terrain! It looks like it’s wood? Very nice!
Good report nice pics.
