[Not my best showing for sure, but some games are meant to be learned from and this was definitely one. Huge loss at acquisition, which seems to be a trend for me…Next time we will prevail!]

After hearing rumors of an Aleph sweep of our Nomad Allies Cosmika HQ, We dispatched a small team of mixed Sword units to ambush incoming AI threats.

Aleph Turn 1

Our position was quickly discovered by the enemy units. A Shiab gun platform was spotted before a true ambush could be realized. Acting quickly a Danavas hacker booted up assisted fire on their own HMG and began a heavy barrage. A Lasiq was quickly identified and added as a secondary target. With the covering fire of the Zayin, a coordinated effort by a Dakini, Deva and Daleth took down the Hunkered Shiab – shooting it a few more times for good measure.

Agaruda dropped through the rock ceiling above and surprised our engineer. A nearby Djanzaban, was ready and dodged the incoming fire.

Aleph elements moved up to secure an antennae, revealing their true purpose for being in the vicinity. With the targets identified, our forces attempted to seize the antennae from the enemies control. There must be something of importance here that they didn’t want us to find.

Haqq turn 1

Our entrenched Fiday attempted to remove the enemy’s key overwatch threat by putting two rounds into the Zayin HMG. His cover blown, it was only a matter of seconds before the surrounding units tore him to pieces.

Huddled in the upper story of a nearby building, our Mukhtar operative burst through the upper doorway to eliminate the Garuda threat from behind. He then moved into a defensive position taking out the Deva Spitfire that destroyed the Shihab.

The order to take up defensive positions went out and our units dropped into suppressive fire.

Aleph Turn 2

A Dakini paramedic crept up on the overwatching Lasiq, putting it down with a short burst from it’s combi rifle at close range. With the threat gone, an Aleph engineer repaired the Zayin with no threat of enemy fire. With their key support piece repaired, the Aleph forces moved in to secure another antennae and create a kill box, that our units could not penetrate.
Fources hidden in a nearby building could hear doors opening below them. Our Asawira operative could hear something shouting in an Alien tongue. The krakots never were very subtle.

Haqq turn 2

Running low on resources and pinned down by heavy fire, Leila attempted to move towards the antennae to provide support. She ends up blineded by a flash pulse and must take cover to regain her sight.

In an attempt to clear the path, the Djanzaban leans out and fires into the Zalin, putting it down once again.

Aleph Turn 3

A krakot renegade burst out of a hatch in the second story building containing the majority of our forces. He tosses a grenade as he climbs to the roof dodging a shotgun blast from our Hunzakut. The hunzakut dodged behind a nearby desk taking no damage.

The Krakot then attempted to get the jump on the Mukhtar, firing two chainrifles from above. The Muhktar takes a few rounds to the chest, but refuses to go down – returning fire and killing the Krakot in the process.

Aleph elements move up to secure a tech coffin, which seemed to be their true objective the whole time.

Still dazed by the flashpulse a Naga operative surprised Leila, stopping her from getting any further with a trinity blast.

Haqq turn 3

With our ambush completely foiled, our remaining elements began to retreat, but the secrets of the tech coffin was too much to ignore. Our Asawira made a mad dash to try and halt the Aleph data pull. He crashed through the first story door, surprising the Naga and putting him down with a brutal shotgun blast. Before he could reach the tech coffin however, the Aleph elements began to withdraw. It seemed they had gotten everything the needed.

The Asawira turned to cover his comrades retreat. Unable to secure even a single shred of data for our allies.

Our pride was broken, but our will is not. We will have revenge.

10-1 Aleph win

Damn, well fought despite the result! I can definitely envision the hunzaqut diving for cover behind the desk while firing her shotgun. Thanks for the report and better luck next time!

  • Danger Rose says:

It’s not the numeric result, but the effort put in a well made report, like this one, that counts! Welcome to the fray.
