Asteroid Blues

The Tunguska player came back after an over 5 year break from Infinity. I am fairly new to Infinity & recently picked up Shasvastii. Lots of questions were asked. Lots of reading & re-reading of the scenario happened. Hard fought battle right to the end.

:Beginning of Game:
150pts each
Mission – The Grid
We rolled for initiative.
Jake chose to go first.
I chose sides.

:Turn 1:
I moved up all my camo & TO camo tokens & my Gwailo which was the only visible target on the board. The goal was to move into position.
Jake moved his army into position as well. He had a duo team on board as well as a Hollow man & a Mary Problems among other models.

:Turn 2:
Jake activates 1 antenna with Mary Problems & destroys it.
My camo tokens start to materialize revealing Shasvastii models.
My Caliban activates one antenna & attempts to destroy it but fails.
My Caliban is not a quitter so he proceeds to attempt to destroy it again & is successful.
My Cadmus-Soldier comes in from the sky with combat jump & lands on the correct target. However, little to Jake’s knowledge, he came down with decoys! Jake chooses to shoot at one of the targets in the sky but it was a decoy.
Shots are fired on both sides due to AROs. We also both begin taking wounds due to the hostile environment we are in.
I begin losing my Shasvastii army & the seed-embryos begin.

:Turn 3:
Jake shoots at another decoy since he is in a threatening location.
I manage to activate & destroy a 2nd antenna with the real Cadmus-Soldier.
Jake is furious & just showers my Shasvastii in bullets.
My army is now down to only 2 live models. My Noctifier Lieutenant & my Caliban. The rest of my army is in spawn-embryo form, practically dead.
Jake activates Mary Problems who goes in to activate 2 antennas.
I take all the ARO shots possible to stop Jake from reaching the antennas but just end up with my whole army in spawn-embryo form.
Jake then activates his duo team to destroy both activated antennas for the win.
Shasvastii lost this time but it’s not over yet. We will meet again.
