Asteroid Blues

Nomad command dispatched a contingent of commando raiders to co-opt an antenna array within the Xaraks battery field. The plan was to infiltrate, accomplish the goal, and retreat without raising any alarm. The plan went quickly awry though as an Ariadnaen dog warrior picked up on the scent of the Morlock infiltrators and alerted the garrison. The Ariadnaen crept forward under the cover of their own camoflage until the savage kilted maniac could take it no longer. With a howling warcry he charged forward, and the Irmandinos following him charged after. Shots rang out from hidden Nomad snipers but missed their mark. An Irmandinho surged forward to seize an antenna, dodging blasts from concealed mines and shots from a hidden Libertos. The Dog warrior raced towards the noise but the nomads had anticipated this move and quickly glued the beast on place with a well placed adhesive shot from a Prowler. The remaining Irmandinho engineers saw their comrade in trouble and charged forth to help him, freeing the dog warrior but being blasted by a Libertos in the process.
The dog warrior leaped over a compound wall towards the greatest concentration of Nomads and was blasted by mines, flamethrowers and rifle shots in the process. The resulting exchange wounded the dog warrior twice, but left the Nomads leaderless and crippled as the Wildcat LT and Intruder HMG succumbed to chain rifle shots. A coordinated assault by the Morlocks finished off the Dog Warrior but at the cost of a majority of the Nomad offensive capability.
The Ariadneans then pressed the attack with the arrival of Van Zant who arrived behind the Intruder Sniper. Showing amazing calm, the intruder shot Van Zant at point blank range, mortally wounding him before being shot down herself. Van Zant with his dying breath then shot a Heckler in the back.
The remaining Nomad force, in loss of lieutenant again, melted into the shadows and disappeared from sight.
