Asteroid Blues

We decided to not do the grid this time as we are still reading through all of the scenarios. Classic Shavaasti vs O12. We did the new highly classified from its. We were curious to see how it worked.
High command had sent in a heavy team to the report of strange activity. There had been signs of possible combined activity on the asteroid and until it was confirmed the citizens must be kept in the dark…possibly even after it was confirmed.
The chimney was the perfect place for this type of incursion. The team deployed with the watch commanders words in their ears… Let’s all be safe out there. Epsilon O’Reilly went on overwatch as sgt Connery moved up with her sensor hound of the Sirius team.
The alpha took up a solid position and looked at the tactical map to make sure everyone was under cover. Crocket had spent too much time with the gangs and could get a wild side when he wanted to. Everything looked good though as they slowly made their way into the chimney the operation had begun.
Okay I moved up nice and calm sticking my droids at risk while my meat stayed safe. Dakinis were my aro pieces for this one. First action of the shavas was to drop the abomination cadmus and he tried to scan my team Sirius. To be fair nothing on the board except the gamma had great stats and my gamma was not in a great position for him. He succeeded but got a shotgun in the face for his trouble and died with his improved stats.
The game wasn’t up though as the gwailos moves up and took out my epsilon. (for the record 3 games epsilon taken out because of white noise basically not sure he stays the aro piece). Luckily though since I had been son conservative with deployment nothing else much happened.
Turn 2 I spent most of it taking out the gwailos and losing a couple of dakinis. The razor moves up and started to accomplish some objectives and team Sirius- more like team rock star am I righr?! As the data tracker also accomplished a mission.
Then the sneaky sneaks asked ‘does this look like 300 points cop boy?’ since I don’t know the combined very well I went maybe. Then the Sphinx showed up. Visions of victory started to fade away. The good news is since my opponent is new to the alien he made some mistakes. Mainly he climbed up up a giant sign and while he did flame me and kill 2 dakini my mad traps immobilized him on the side of the building. Then he spent the rest of his turn moving an engineer up to detangle his hvy point spend unit.
So team Sirius to the rescue and my Dynomutt hit him and then my Sirius walked up abdbahot him to death. Unfortunately it was not all roses as my lynx did a little risk and promptly learned a plasma carbine can’t save him from everything.
Turn 3 was a bit of a snooze fest. He didn’t have enough to push for more objectives and I was low on models with half of Sirius a razor a wounded gamma an alpha and a Delta left. Oh yeah Delta jumped in like a champ on turn 1 to heal my gamma from nwi. He is amazing!
Dust settles, good guys win and the citizens are none the wiser.
