"(listening to a wolf howl off in the distance) do you hear that. thats the sound of another fav star trophy in the bag" -wint (@dril)

Lieutenant Rashida Ghali stared in stunned silence at the motley collection in front of her. She could not believe High Command assigned her to this. Gone were her tough-as-nails Khawarij and her stubborn Naffatun. In their place was... this mess.

On one side of the barracks, a pair of Kum outlaws wrestled with an enormous Yuan Yuan. The only way to describe the mountain of flesh they wrestled was “fat”. It was a big, fat Yuan Yuan space pirate. She glanced again at the manifest in her hand, before an enormous furred thing loped up to her side.

“And what in Shaitan's name are you here for?”

The humanoid beast looked down at her. “Orders as written? Bodyguard. The real reason? I want to punch a Marut to death.”

Rashida gave a slow nod. “I can appreciate that. What do you think about the...” She paused, trying to come up with a polite way to describe the Kum and the Yuan Yuan.

“...the outlaws?”

Rashida nodded again. “Yes, let's call them all outlaws and leave it at that.”

McMurrough winked at her. “I think they'll do their jobs well.”

For our final pair of Infinity games, I decided to go absolutely deranged with my list. 400 points with the Mercs turned on, and a steadfast refusal to go with fewer than three full combat groups. It worked pretty well! Shamash was overwhelmed. A fair bit of my victory was dumb luck, but also four Yuan Yuan and an unkillable McMurrough contributed a lot, too.

Look at this beautiful gang of motley maniacs.

The battlefield.

The enemy.

I hate myself for this deployment. My zone was getting very full.

The Marut got close to try to score some points with its heavy flamethrower, but the Krakot Renegage dodged. The Marut then realized it was perilously close to an awful lot of e/marats and people with DA CCW and retreated, but the Krakot chased it.

This was almost the best thing I've ever seen. The 8 is my Close Combat attack. The 19 is Shamash's failed Close Combat attack. I had a monofilament CCW. Shamash held his breath. My wife sent him encouragement, psychically, from the other room. And he rolled a 17, saving his Marut... FOR NOW.
THE MAIN EVENT
McMurrough beat the Marut by a single digit and felled the robot monster. Wolfman beats Robot!
Shamash's final points.
And mine. A clear victory.

VIdeo: the music constantly running through Tearlach McMurrough's head.
