Asteroid Blues

In the initial moments of the battle, the ISS Sophotect, Zhanying, and CSU moved up towards the antennas, under the eyes of the Bao sniper and Hsien HMG.

The CSU detected an SAS trooper concealed atop a building, and engaged to no effect. The Bao tried and was flash pulsed, his BTS saving him. The Hsien, however, levelled his HMG and blasted the SAS away.

The Sophotect carefully advanced, leading to the immortal phrase of 'I can see her ring not her base' during a line of sight check, to much "phrasing" and laughter as the two commanders have the maturity of 12 year olds.

She laid down suppression fire as the Zhanying moved up a little closer.

Ariadna's defenders unleashed the hounds, Devil Dogs reaching and attacking the Zhanying, unfortunately knocking him out, despite a wound from the Hsien on the Marine. His Rodina counterpart, the Dog Warrior, also took a hit from the Hsien and became a hulking furry monster.

The Minuteman managed to wound the Hsien, letting Wild Bill begin attacking, at first to no effect but ultimately KO'ing the HMG armed HI

The Dog Warrior KO'd the Bao Sniper, taking a wound but breaking the fireteam. it then managed to knock out a Contender Bao and the CSU with his chain rifles.

The Blackjack attacked the Sophotect to no effect, the superheavy infantry armour shrugging off her suppression fire hits. A Grunt gave it a go as well, also to no effect, his second effort coming as a camo token was also moving outwards. That token, a Foxtrot, then manured to try and engage the stubborn Sophotect, saving a hit he took from her reaction fire.

The Ninja revealed herself seeking to try and engage the nearby Devil Dog with her bow, but misjudged the range and was in chain rifle impact, being knocked out.

The Yudbot raced to revive a downed Bao, needing two command tokens, a third then spent to reform the team. The Bao then took shots on the Dog Warrior, whose grenade knocked down the yudbot.

The Sophotect sought to get out of her exposed position, exchanging fire with the Blackjack and Foxtrot to no effect, but being NWI'd by the Dog Warrior.

Ariadna's dogs then killed the Zhanying and CSU in coup de grace but the Dog Warrior was KO'd by the Sophotect as he struck. The Devil Dog moved in on the Pheasant agent, surviving a first round of AROs but being knocked down by a second.

Wild Bill moved to aim on the Sophotect, and sadly killed her with his hits, and essentially left the way open for the 112 and Minuteman Datatracker to move on the antenna and tech coffin respectively, activating and holding their relevant objectives.

Things were desperate for the YuJing forces, but their resolve held. They bravely fought to the last, the Bao trying to engage the Minuteman and Wild Bill with a combi-rifle, but the effort was ultimately suicidal as the Minuteman killed him with his shock hits.

The Pheasant moved with his LT order and failed to harm the Minuteman, then reformed the team, unfortunately his shots had no effect on the Minuteman, and a Bao was killed by Wild Bill. The Pheasant tried to kill Bill, but was himself killed. The last Bao, the last man standing, tried to hit Bill, but the gunslinger shrugged off the one hit that landed.

Ariadna's forces now simply moved to end the fight with a clean sweep, the Blackjack scoring the Rescue classified objective, and the FO Grunt taking the last antenna as Bill killed the last Bao.

Though our forces exhibited courage and dedication to the State Empire, misfortune and minor tactical errors were capitalised on by the Ariadnan forces, to our detriment. Hopefully this event can at least allow other units to be more aware of the threats from Dog-Warrior assaults as well as the threats of the Ariadnan marksmen. Heavier units are advised for engaging if Wild Bill is present.
