There might be things too dangerous or too insane for the standard units of PanOceanian Military Complex. Yet, they still need to be done regardless. That’s the reason why units like the one I’m belonging to exist – to fight in adverse conditions and accomplish task which other people consider impossible.
We’re called Task Force Vindex and usually we are stationed on Svalarheima. We conducted several operations in minus 50 Celsius, on oceans whipped by fearsome Fimbul storms and in trap-filled underground corridors. Majority of our unit is of Svalarheiman origin, but we do have comrades from other parts of PanOceania – including the Helot species from Varuna.
We were called to Human Edge several days before to fight in subterranean passageways which this rock is filled. They’d know why they asked for us – it might be very risky business for a normal unit. And that’s why we are here.

From: Cpl. Andressa Ramos, Task Force Vindex, Boomerang Corps
To: „Asteroid Blues“ Mission Control, Liberty Cargo
After we found the remnants of our unknown and unfortunate predecesors, our Task Force Vindex continued deeper to the maze. Our task was to find an advanced communication device used by the aliens to set a network for their cells inside the asteroid and destroy it. Once one was found, our sensors indicated that we’re not alone. Lurking around enemy device was a Qapu Khalgi unit. There was a rumors in the Liberty Cargo that Haqqislamite units on this rock could be acting on behalf of somebody else – either of corporate or even darker origin. Anyway, they’d refused to submit to O-12 orders and need to be considered hostiles anyway.
Therefore we stroke them hard as possible from the beginning. There was a group of Ghulam troops hiding in the right side, including an insidious Odalisque, Haris unit of Djanbazan elites, EVO drone, flash-pulse drone, an Janissary Doctor and some infiltrator hiding behind a pile of old tires. Cpl. Palmi Artursson activated enhanced targeting software on Sierra Drone, which took an advantageous position and started to fire hi-caliber rounds towards enemy sniper. Nasty surprise came, while it wasn’t Ghulam sniper, but Hafza officer with Heavy Rocket Launcher. The drone only miraculously escaped destruction.
Lt. Kristiana Runarsdottir, the T.A.G. pilot, was ordered to advance and terminate the hostiles with extreme prejudice. Hafza was exterminated few second after the orders were given, while our forces proceeded forward. Sgt. Thor Fisker, the Nisse sniper, revealed the Al’Hawwa infiltrator behind the piles.
These actions opened way to our operator Tiberio Cilento from the “Locust” unit. He slipped forward, climbed across the obstacle and shot Ghulam FO in the process, while running toward the communication. He planted a D-charges upon it to destroy it, but was shot by hostile Odalisque before he could detonate it.
Hostiles counterattacked deploying several Yuan Yuan savages to our back. Fortunately just one landed where does he wanted to, the other two being shot by guarding Sierra drone. Even this one was able to make damage, shooting cpl. Andressa Ramos from Acontecimento Regulars and forcing cpl. Artursson to dodge before being terminated by Sierra. The Ghulams then laid a smokescreen to cover the Djanbazans, who shot with their HMG to the T.A.G.; Jotum withstood serious punishment before being disabled.
Sgt. Fisker advanced, trying to shoot the Al’Hawwa, but was blinded by his flashpulse before he could shoot him. Our Machinist sgt. Amalie Dall activated his PalBot and repaired the Jotum, who could continue the attack. Jotum continued and get an advantageous position near the enemy, shooting Ghulam grenadier, Al’Hawwa and one of the drones in the process. Covered by the T.A.G., our Varunian specialist sgt. Garnett rushed forward. Hostiles tried to shot down the Jotum covering himself in suppressive fire, but didn’t succeeded this time, losing the Janissary as well. We managed to proceed to fulfill the mission. Sgt. Garnett detonated planted a D-charge on wall to clean the obstacle and detonated both this and the one planted by the Locust, destroying the obstacle and severely damaging the alien communication antenna as well. Sgt. Dall run towards the panoply and get a sample of the containment to further examination.
