To reinforce our efforts to defend Cosmika HQ from the assault of soulless Aleph-Puppets, a small Nomads patrol was sent to loot some usefull technology or weapons from the nearby PanO base. And while they were there, they could as well sabotage the base so some degree.
So we played Looting and Sabotaging. And we chose to use Soldiers of Fortune.
We both rolled a 13 for lieutenant roll, but since it was PanO, for them it was a fail. Nomads chose Deployment and PanO took first turn.
PanO had to roll several dice:
The CSU gained NWI
The Krakot in the first group: Arm+1 and Bioimmunity
The Krakot in the second group: PH+3 and Regeneration
Board:
First a Yuan Yuan tried to land, assisted by the Evo Hacker, to clear the mines and Crazy Koalas around the AC2.
But the Interventor won the Face2Face Roll, so the Yuan Yuan scattered to the right. Lucky for him there were no possible AROs. He rolled Arm+1 on his Booty chart. Later that turn the Yuan Yuan came back, using his smoke cover. The Intruder tried, but could not kill the Yuan Yuan (because of the rolled Arm+1 (!)), but survived the Chain Rifle as well.
In the end, a Crazy Koala killed the Yuan Yuan.
One of the Fugazi went forward and deployed a Sniffer in Range of a Camo Token. One of the Regulars discovered the Bandida and the Bulleteer shot her. At least this took several orders from PanO away.
Next Raoul tried to land next to the Puppetmaster, again assisted by the Evo Hacker, but failed his PH16-Roll, went of the board and deployed to the far right side, moving somewhat forward in cover afterwards.
End of Turn 1, the Yojimbo, Fugazi, Bulleteer and Konstantinos went for cover and the three minelayer from Group 2 dropped another 3 mines everywhere.
Using a Command Token, the Moran switched to Group 1
First the Uberfallkommando moved forward with the Impeteous Order, then the Interventor used Controlled Jump and a Hellcat landed in a suicidal move to clear all disturbing mines (3 or 4) and Crazy Koalas (2). Unsurprisingly he died.
Next the Uberfallkommando threw an Eclipsegrenade just in front of the AC2 and Musashi rushed forward.
After fulfilling the primary objective, he proceeded with the secondary objective, causing as much havoc as possible. He tried to kill Yojimbo because he was the only unit visible with Smoke and without Smoke, PanO would have to deal with the Sineater to get close to the AC2. Both rolled 2 Crits, so nothing happened.
With the last order the Uberfallkommando took some cover.
First the Krakot tried to shoot Musashi but all dice failed by a large margin and nothing happened. Next the Bagh Mari tried it with his sniper rifle. One hit, one fail that hit Yojimbo, so both had 1 DA Armor save to roll.
As expected, Musashi failed both and Yojimbo saved both (PanO is extremely (!!!) lucky with his armor rolls, rolling 15+ all the time)
Now Yojimbo rushed forward using a smoke cover because of fear of the Sineater. Because of speculative fire he lost at least 2 additional orders, but finally reached the AC2. Using his remaining orders he took 1 structure point of the AC2, surviving the shot of the Intruder.
Next the Krakot from the other Combat Group (with PH+3) finished the AC2, because we granted him B2 for friendly troopers in CC (we were not able to find the right rule fast enough, but now we think a structure can not be engaged, so there is no additional burst from friendly troopers attacking scenery. Otherwise Krakot would not have been able to completely destroy the AC2).
During this attack the Krakot got shot by the Intruder using his pistol. Krakot tried to regenerate but failed his PH-Roll and died.
Using a Command Token, the Sineater switched to Group 1.
Uberallkommando effortlessly killed Yojimbo using his Extreme Impeteous Order (2 Crits with Viral CCW and Burst 3). Natural Born Warrior and i-Kohl are really great.
Now the Uberfallkommando went to the first Panoply, throwing eclipse grenades everywhere and looted 3 items out of the Panoply, using 2 orders. Again, like with the Krakot, we somewhat quickly ruled that every G:Sync trooper can loot the Panoply. We still don't know, if this was right, but, in hindsight, every player had one decision in his favor, so I guess it was okay.
Then the Uberfallkommando rushed to the other Panoply, again using an eclipse grenade and looted another 3 items with 2 orders and went for slight cover.
The Uberfallkommando looted the following: Chimera: Multi Rifle and ODD, Croc Pupnik: ODD, Joker Pupnik: Nanopulser and Automed and Kaizoku Pupnik: MSV 1
We are thanking PanO for supporting the defence of Cosmika with this equipment :-)
The remaining Krakot tried to shoot one of the Pupniks (Joker, because he had no ODD), but he passed his armor roll and both visible Pupniks dodged for cover.
Great report.
Keep them coming! Go go bromads!
It’s not looting, it’s unauthorised comandeering!
Good job.
Good report and good photos. 🙂
Woah. Using a hellcat to clear a bunch of deployables is definitely not something I’ve ever thought about doing, but glad it worked for you!
Good job holding the Gorge!
