“Alert — Alert — Alert. Shasvastii spotted in the Gorge. All available units report to your positions”

A moderately sized force of Shasvastii were identified moving into The Gorge, planning on taking control of the Comms Array. A light troop of Nomads were nearby and able to respond, but they were green; They’d never come up against Shasvastii before. The securitate in charge got into what looked like good positions after reviewing the Shasvastii force. Intel informed us that one of the marked High Value Targets from command was here and if our Bandit can eliminate it we can disrupt their organization. As this was first contact, we needed to see these creatures up close and take stock of their martial prowess.

Taigha creatures popped out from behind walls and raced downfield. Our smartly positioned Feurerbach took a shot but missed, but the warcor was able to stun it, leaving it dazed. It advanced further and was hit by the Securitate’s second Feurerbach shot which eradicated the little beast from the field. Another had snuck onto a building but was also picked off by the securitate’s explosive payload. One little beast snuck up to our frontlines but was knocked out after discovering our Bandit. A fourth Taigha was obliterated by the puppet master’s shock ammo, suriving his suicide chain colt run. One last beast managed ot skirt our defenses and take down one of the fanatical morlocks, hitting a hidden Heckler and taking him down. The scraggly Taigha saved against the Koalas and the morlock’s chain rifle, running back to disable one of our Lunokhods in defensive position before being burnt to a crisp.

Throughout the Taigha onslaught we didn’t realize the Gwailo getting into position above us until it was too late. Methodically he was able to out shoot our Feurerbach. With our defensive position lessened, it proceeded to remove our last remaining Lunokhod, and the monstrucker next to him, as well as discover our zero and the other heckler hacker, blasting them with his Heavy Rocket Launcher. As the rockets ended, we could hear movement in the back of their lines as they slowly advanced and we saw comm radios lighting up in combined colors.

Having lost most of our defensive force in their initial push, we knew we weren’t going to be able to hold the region. Caught off-guard we didn’t have a good response to what we knew remained. The Gwailo would be a good target for our hidden intruder but the static around him didn’t leave an opportunity for attack, and Sheskin was peering down the only other corridor backed by his Nox teammates. The team’s morlocks tried to push up but weren’t able to make good headway with that Gwailo peering down upon the battlefield. Our puppet master had no time to activate his bots for the encounter but he was able to disect one of the Taigha creatures that was put down earlier. After that the Liason Bandit flicked on one of the comm radios and pushed up to knock the Shasvastii high value target unconsious. Knowing that we had to keep that target down, our Lieutenant shuffled from his secure position and took up suppressive fire coving the target’s lane, as the infmaous Dr. Worm was right behind the wall.

A shimmering mark down the puppet master’s firelane disclosed something was there but he wasn’t able to pierce the camouflage; however the Liason Bandit and a liberto were able to see past its trickery. A Caliban had snuck past the lane to take out the Bandit. He swiftly knocked out the Bandit while the Liberto set up mines for defenses. The Caliban tried to remove the Liberto but it safely dodged away, and it decapitated our morlock before dying in a field of mines. There wasn’t even anything left to clean up. The Gwailo dropped from his building giving us a bit more space to maneuver.

Orders were clear, that High Value Target had to stay down. The puppet master pushed up past the headless Morlock and past the downed target. He placed a mine in view of the dreaded doctor, and popped out to spray him with his SMG. It stood no chance and was eliminated. Short on options, our one remaining Morlock pushed upfield past the Gwailo to chain rifle two of the Nox in squad. One wasn’t able to get away and took the full blast of the weapon.

The Shasvastii Squad slowly pushed up the table, removing a civilian in our charge; we no longer had the force to protect her. Sheskiin was spotted advancing around the back of our Puppet Master but our brave Lieutenant was able to achieve a critical wound on the xeno before it dropped out of sight. As it advanced on the Puppet Master he was able to finish the job with a well placed headshot leaving it down for the count. More comms radios were activated in the name of the enemy but we were at a loss to stop them.

Radio from command soon followed to fall back and save the fight for another day.
