The main issue in dealing with Asura is how damned enigmatic they are, Shakti thought. They're always so perfectly calm, perfectly unflappable, perfectly serene, with their soft voices and faint smiles, that it's all but impossible to tell what they're thinking at any given moment.
(That is not entirely true. Shakti knew full well that at any given moment, an Asura is thinking about murder.)
So her commander's pleasant demeanour wasn't actually comforting in the slightest as Shakti enumerated the many and varied issues the Shamash squadron had been experiencing as of late. 'Winning or losing, when the Evolved Intelligence is not involved, is not of primary concern,' Beth said, almost offhandedly as she stared unblinking into the darkness of the Gallery-Maze. 'Winning or losing, order or chaos, heroism or villainy - all of these are excellent teachers to humans. We simply facilitate the matter. Do not worry, Shakti...
... Just kill.'
Thence followed me just picking up TACOS cards all over the place. Their missilier took a shot at Beth, who counter-critted her down, and the Nazmat got her back up right in time for Beth to shoot her again. Shakti meandered up with her Spitfire and laid general waste before her rampage was ended by Wild Bill Hickock. A Naffatun with a heavy flamethrower caused some Rather Serious Issues with regards to toasting Beth right down into NWI, but hey, the retributive Nanopulsing resulted in a card for me.
Cat tax!
Little Greebo was so sleepy.
Clearly the battle was so taxing that even the mighty predator was tired afterward.
