So an observant Muslim, a shard of an AI, and an actual robot walk into a bar...

I guess they're there to fight? I mean, I'm not sure the distractions offered in this pit are appealing to body-hopping post-humans or those with tastes refined on Bourak.

In prior campaigns, I'd been leaning on very small crews of mostly people with names. The idea of having, like, multiple orders or BSes under 14 was a strange and bewildering one. So I was intrigued by the release of the Vedics, and wanted to give them a try. I'm... Not entirely certain they are to my tastes. But perhaps that was just this one battle that -really- went against me.

I am neither a good painter nor a good photographer. Here, the part of Apsara Hacker will be played by an Asura, and Captain Unpainted there is an Apsara Jumper, who will be stuck in a back corner and forgotten about.

In a shocking twist, the misfired Netrod actually remained on the table! Haqqislam had a clean opening round - they moved up mostly under cover. The Apsara Hacker shot their forward observer, but, being Haqqislam, he just got right back up and Observed her for a TACOS card.

That guy.
On my turn, the Deva Lieutenant dashed out of sight to the crate (yes, it's a crate with a big glowy monitor, don't ask) for a card.

Following that, she dashed to another table-Macguffin for a second. Two objective points in one round was pleasing! That the objective was in sight of a Khawarij that shot her into NWI was less pleasing. She critted him down as she moved to cover, but again, Haqqislam, and it was but a momentary respite before another Khawarij gunned her down.

Meanwhilst, the Dakini fireteam had been hanging out right across from the opposing fireteam. A card came up with an objective to break a fireteam, and it was their go. Fare thee well, HMG Dakini.

It was all downhill from there - the Hacker tried to help but got shot for her trouble, and basically unopposed at that point, they picked up another two easy points, at which point we called it.

I think the issue I had was much less with my dice (unhelpful though they were!) and more to do with bad positioning. The Hacker and the Sophotect were positioned in just such a way that they couldn't really do much, and the Dakini fireteam was positioned just right to be shot at and just wrong to shoot back effectively. Alas! It's been a while, and it's an unfamiliar sectorial style. Lessons for next time!

And we had company while playing!
