Asteroid Blues

This time, I feel like writing a quick summary:

Nomads (Tunguska) vs Ariadna (Caledonia)
Highly Classified with the special rules for the Xaraks Battery
Main Classifieds: Predator, HVT: Espionage, HVT: Retroengineer, Sabotage
Secondary classifieds: Data Scan for Nomads, and Mapping for Ariadna

Ariadna went first, McMurrough did a number of the securitate and Perseus, scoring predator but eventually going down to return Persues (bezerk).
Uxia placed D-charges for sabotage. SAS forward observer moved forward to achieve mapping but failed the WIP and had no more orders.

Nomads responded by horribly misuisng Fat Yuan Yuan, not using his d-charges for sabotage, or his bezerk to finish predator. Instead he chain rifled the SAS and failed, going unconscious in response. Hollowman moved over and finished the SAS. The Lieutenant intervenetor moved over and data scanned the unconscious SAS. Mary moved forward and acheived espionage on the enemy HVT.

Ariadna turn 2. Nomad HVT had been palced very far away from Dozer, which had a very far distance to go. Smoke cover was laid down and it began to move. However, near it’s destination, it move-move’d on the edge of the heckler jammer’s ZoC. Guessing it was within 8, the heckler revealed to jam, the jam was in range, hit, and isolated the dozer.

Nomads’s turn 2, the clockmaker had a large number of reactive pieces in it’s way, including Uxia, a camoflauged Cateran, and a revealed Scot’s Guard missile launcher. Grenzer sniper failed to discover the cateran, but did disable Uxia. Hollowman moved to engage the Scott’s guard, received a critical, but passed the remaining armor rolls, defeated him, and moved on to Fusileer Angus. Angus deliverd a critical to KO the hollowman. In a desperate situation, the heckler advanced and succesfully jammed William Wallace. Desperately, the meteor zond arrived and the intervenetor repositioned to provide some overwatch.

Ariadna turn 3 in loss of Lieutenant. Unfortunately the remaining highlanders and william wallace failed to throw smoke. A SAS and fusileer angus attempted to remove the overwatch between the dozer and the Nomad HVT. The meteor zond went down but against all odds the Intervenetor passed numerous armor rolls and guts checks to stay in the game, hitting and KO’ing the dozer as it was on a suicide rush to the HVT. (The dozer had used it’s irregular order to remove the isolated state. Considerable damage was done to Nomad forces in retaliation, and the fireteam advanced (using command tokens) advanced to block the Ariadnan HVT.

With few orders left, there was no effective way for Nomads to acheive any HVTs, but because the secondary classified is valued at 2, but the ‘more classifieds includes both main and secondary classifieds, Nomads scraped out a narrow win.
