Mission: Frostbyte

Pan Oceanian forces were deployed to intercept a Morat Aggression Force attempting to advance through the Jiyuan Quarry.

Top of Turn One
My opponent wins initiative and decides to go second. He opts for a conservative deployment to minimize my turn 1 sniping. My only obstacle to freely maneuver is his Total Reaction Q-drone with a plasma rifle. My Sierra duels with his Q-drone and emerges triumphant. With the threat of the Q-drone eliminated my Fusilier Forward Observer moves up and connects a console to activate my dead zone heating unit. De-Fersen and the Magister Knight push up my left flank. The camouflaged Zulu Cobra and the Krakot advance up the middle. My Trauma Doc pushes up the right flank toward the right console and enemy HVT.

Bottom of Turn One
My opponent brings a Rasyat drop troop onto the board in my rear, left flank. The Rasyat sows chaos in my backfield and kills a Fusilier. The enemy’s Raicho TAG moves out of cover and begins to advance up my left flank while dueling my Kamau sniper. The Kamau is eventually eliminated but not before significantly damaging the Raicho. A Krakot pushes up my right flank while Kornak pushes up my left flank.

Top of Turn Two
My Krakot falls back and eliminates the Rasyat. My Magister Knight advances up to take a rear shot at the Raicho with his panzerfaust reducing it to unconsciousness but is unable to take it off the board completely. De Fersen moves to the left console and activates my deployment zone heater and ends within 8” of the unconsciousness Raicho. The Black Friar pushes up the center to cover the corner where a enemy Daturazi is likely to appear.

Bottom of Turn Two
The Black Friar kills a Daturazi as it moves out from behind a building. The other Daturzi engages my Magister Knight in melee and is cut down. The enemy Ikadron that I’d forgotten about springs around a corner spraying his flame throwers at the Magister Knight. The Magister Knight shoots when he should dodge and is consumed by the flames. De Fersen hacks the Ikadron in ARO and immobilizes it. With the flanking Magister dead the Kurgat engineer moves and repairs the Raicho bringing it back into the battle. The Raicho shoots De Fersen with a heavy shotgun along an unexpected line of fire while De Fersen frantically tries to hack the TAG. After multiple face to face rolls De Fersen falls to the TAG. Kornak, the enemy data tracker, moves to the left console where he is surprised by my hidden deployment Croc man. Kornak makes an amazing armor save while incinerating my Croc man with his flame thrower. Kornak then activates his dead zone heating unit.

Top of Turn Three
The majority of the top tier pieces in my toolbox are off the table at this point. The Zulu Cobra moves to a point where she can menace the Rodok Hacker if he advances out of his deployment zone. The Trauma Doc moves and inoculates the enemy HVT to complete my Classified Objective. The Sierra moves to where it can see the Raicho. After several face to face rolls the Raicho is back to unconsciousness. The Sierra moves to where it can see Kornak but can only do 1 wound to him before running out of orders.

Bottom of Turn Three
The Kurgat engineer repairs the Raicho and brings it back into the battle. My opponent moves his other models into heated zones except for the Rodok Hacker who is stone walled by the Zulu Cobra. At the end of the Turn his Rodok Hacker is killed by the cold.

Results
My opponent secured the Exclusion Zone with his data tracker (3 objective points), killed my data tracker (2 objective points), and had at least one active heater (1 objective point). I killed more army points (3 objective points), completed my Classified Objective (1 objective point), and had at least 1 active heater (1objective point). My opponent wins the match 6 to 5.
