Stardate 5259:592 Commisioner’s log. This is the report of Mike – known as “The scrivener”.

After re-arranging our units and creating a strike team to follow the Morats deeper into the facility we came across another Ammunition dump. Just as we suspected, we ran into another Morat operation outpost. They must have been warned of our arrival because by the time we got there they were waiting for us. Once again we knew that they were here for the supply room so I decided that our main objective was to seize it, from there we could fight outward and splinter the Morat forces.

A Rhodok link team on our right flank moved into position – they chose to engage our Gamma-class Heavy Infantry. After an exchange of fire between our Gamma and their Heavy Machine Gun wielder, our Gamma was left with two gunshot wounds as he retreated into cover. A Krakot renegade approached the supply room and bashed down the door. I left last battle with several wounded soldiers, so I requested some Beta-class infantry to be deployed with me this time – I understand how frightening it can be for the new recruit to face Morats in battle.

We moved the Beta doctor into the supply room, gunning the Krakot down on the way in. He used a Yudbot to repair a wound on the Gamma. From there I ordered defensive positions – Another Beta spitfire took cover, anticipating another Krakot to round the corner. Both gangbusters moved up, placing Madtraps in convenient locations and training weapons on areas of approach.

The two Sogarats decided it was their time to fight now. They moved up and destroyed the spitfire Beta in one volley. They then killed my Gangbuster and disconnected his madtraps. The Krakot I thought was killed regenerated his wound but was immobilized by another madtrap. The Sogarats ended their rampage covering most of the supply room. The beta doctor made a break for better cover but was hit on the way by a heavy duty Feuerbach. We’ll collect whatever is left of him after we’ve swept the rest of the deck. Our Epsilon took action, under cover of smoke he opened fire on the Sogarats. He was able to knock both unconscious before running out of ammo. A Varangian guard made a break for the supply room but was spooked by some sounds that emanated from inside.

Mechanical clicks could be heard from the other side of the room, the Sogarats must have been armed with auto-med injectors that activated and got them back on their feet. One ran into the room but was blasted by the chain rifle on the Varangian. She should be commended for this as it meant her life. She was quickly killed by his hail of assault pistol fire. The Sogarat dropped unconscious again after the exchange was over. Once again his automatic medkit injector kicked in but the dose it administered was too strong for him as he spasmed and died. A Krakot rushed down the corridor for a chance to attack our Epsilon, he was met with a Varangian who he quickly dispatched with SMG fire. The lynx, realizing what was at stake, revealed her hidden position and shot at the Krakot, killing him. The battle was then quickly ended by the lynx, she was able to sneak up on the remaining Sogarat and blast him with her experimental weapon. It made rather short work of him as she was able to enter the supply room and secure it. It was at this point the Morats once again found themselves outnumbered and retreated.

If I’m not mistaken there is another deck or two left of this Ammo Module that we still need to sweep. I think I already know what I’m going to find there….
I’ll give my men the rest of the night before we move out again – It’s worth it to take the extra time and set up a proper Zone of Operations so whatever ground we do take isn’t immediately lost.
