Hey folks this was the first of two games I was able to play and it was an…… Interesting game to say the least. I played the Shock Army of Acontecimento using a list centered around a Dragao and a mixed core team of Bagh Mari and Regulars. My opponent was playing Starco with a list focused upon a fire team core of riot grrls and Emily handleman. If you want to have a laugh and see how a whole army dies in its deployment zone to a single model by turn two keep on reading!

This was our board layout for annihilation.

- Deployment-

I had won the roll-off and decided to choose table side and deployment this decision would soon prove costly. My opponent playing Starco had chosen to go first and begin and set up his units mostly prone on buildings or behind cars with only the members of his fire team left exposed overlooking the battlefield.

I deployed much in the same fashion though I place my team a little more conservatively thinking that i would need their considerable firepower if I was to deal with the enemies Heavy infantry team. Dragao deployed out of sight overwatching the opposite side of the table.

The Shock Army all locked and loaded ready to defend Pan Oceania territory.
Riot grrls ready to kick some face in.

- Turn 1 Starco -

Fueled with anger for the pan oceanians a yuan yuan jumps onto the table near my Baghmari team. Luckily I had defenses in place in the form of an antipersonnel mine place by my Acon Regular minelayer. While the yuan yuan didn't trigger the mine it served as enough of a deterrent to keep him at bay at least for now.

With the Impetuous phase complete my opponent moved onto activating his fire team. He declares a speculative fire on my Dragao with Emily's Em/normal Light grenade launcher. With the scenario bonus reducing -6 rangebands to -3 and the effects of Emily's x visor and her fire team bonus she was able to hit my on 10s even out to 48 inches. So he proceeded to Isolate my Tag, my whole fireteam and kill my engineer. from his deployment zone......... ouch.

- Turn 1 Shock Army -

If I was going to somehow bring this back Emily needed to die this turn! My one chance was in the form of a heroic Akali Commando who I jumped in behind the team out of line of sight. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to stick the landing and was forced back into my deployment zone and was effectively out of the game. I move my Isolated troops around to make templates harder whilst moving up. I also moved my Isolated tag to get a shot next turn (We both forgot that E/m Imm2 tags and heavies).

Getting ready to unleash the cannon!

- Turn 2 Starco-

My opponent dumped 10 orders into Emily and switched to normal grenades and proceeded to spec fire to remove the rest of my army minus my Tag, not for lack of trying. Looking grim would be an understatement.

- Turn 2 Shock Army -

With only my tag left ( Who should have been Imm 2 as stated above) I did the only thing a tag could do and Lined up against the Exposed riot Grrls. I fired off the HRMC and missed all 5 shots and proceeded to be shot off the table by the Riot Missle launcher and multi rifle ending the game.

- Conclusion -
Im not sure what I could say about this match. I never left my deployment zone and neither did my opponent. Neither of us saw the effect the scenario special rules would have on Emily until we got rolling so neither of us will play that scenario a second time. The score was 10 - 0 for Starco.

Luckily I was able to get another game in that day as redemption for my abysmal result!
GG Scruffy great opponent as always!
