The rangers were pretty badly beaten up. Their captain still walked along the outside of their circle all tending to their wounds, dented armor, and wounded egos. "The enemy is smart, cunning and malicious," he stated as he looked over his troops. "They have a higher level of understanding and cunning that we have not seen from any antipode pack," he stated as he touched his fingers to his head. Just as he finished briefing a new group of Rangers approached. Their doctor on her bike with a huge smile on her face. "Doc, looks like your just in time to get everyone on their feet. We have one more skirmish before we dive into the heart of Novvy Bangkok."
Captian Lowell Bullock looked at his most recently patched troops. He began to point and give orders, "Rocket launcher to the right, boarding shotgun to our left to watch the flank," he ordered the marauders. "Hardcases, disappear in the middle of the zone and be patient this time. I don't want any early arrows." Captain Bullock turned to grunt fireteam, "I know you are the best when you hold up and protect an area. Snipers high and machine guns low. We have a new tactic we want to try with the second transport ship of our troops. No snipers roosts and no standing still. If this new fireteam is going to be successful when our AP HMGs get to the station, we cannot continue to use the same tactics and get stale."
Turn 1
Enemy went first, link teams traded fire on both flanks. He dropped a Yuan Yuan on the left flank and it was able to allow a krakot renegade get in position to utilize his chest mines. The rangers were better positioned and prepared for the attack and were able to utilize their flamethrowers to take out the krakot and Yuan Yuan. The right flank had the maruader go down with his rocket launcher missing the target. The sniper went down from the grunt team.
In response, the left flank left the yuan yuan and krakot on the ground unconscious. Knowing that whenever you can, take out the enemy, or kill the orc, the boarding shotgun maruader took out the downed bodies. The 112 deployed a smoke grenade and got the sniper back in the fight. On the right flank Rosie tried to break the enemy defensive hold, but fell after getting double critted.
Turn 2
The enemy held the superior positioning and took care of the the two heavy machine guns that had moved up in attempt to establish a defensive nest. The enemy was also successful in taking out the 112 on her bike.
The counter strike, had one of the grunt paramedics bring one machine gunner back. The hardcases attempted to utilize their position on the field to break the enemy defensive position link teams. Van Zant appeared and got into their link team, but ran out of orders before he was able to do massive damage.
Turn 3
The enemy was able to knock out all remaining grunts and finally defeated Van Zant in close combat.
The boarding shotgun marauder was able to get on the enemies flank, but was unable to cause enough damage.
