Kill All Humans

Echoes of violence were a constant on the deeper tunnels of the Chimneys in Asteroid Blues. After a couple of weeks of never ending skirmishes on the Asteroid, things were getting into their tipping point. For everyone it was becoming just another bloodbath without any really pay-off as this set a blaze the place and hope was on a straight down fall into oblivion.
Down on the most dangerous places, The Gallery maze, the Aleph HQ is set up on a “defend, secure and clean” mission. Their buildings exude an aura of discipline and might above all the place.
A mix of soldiers and machines go in and out from the main gate on teams to make operations on the darker tunnels of the place, troops of the Steel Phalanx can be seen moving back and forward on with equipment or in training. On the inside of the building walls, a symphony of synchronized agents working can be seen. Further inside through the main passageway the Living Quarters can be found. This quarters are divided on different sections and one of them is for third party additions of the Aleph Forces, mainly mercenaries, private security companies or on some rare cases, media journalists. On one of those squared rooms with three beds per room was a female woman in its early thirties, fit, slender and with a blond short hair, writing on her computer.

Day 16
Linette Allard, CSU No.10124, 3rd Section
Deployed on Human Edge under OSS command, Chimneys HQ

– Last night once again we were given the atrocious RED – 07 rations supposed to taste of beef with chilli along with some apple pie as dessert. Its taste is nothing close to the description but it packs a punch, one that is really needed every time I gotta go on a mission, but sorry for the small chat and let me get to the point.
I was detached with a large number of OSS operatives in one of the widest but deeper tunnels on the Asteroid. Intelligence was right when Shasvastii force was sighted lurking in the dark. This is the report of my first encounter with the so called Shasvastii Expeditionary Force.

The Field

The operations started as usual, I got an encrypted message of when to be ready in what part of the HQ to receive the mission details and be deployed. After that, we started moving and in a couple of hour we reached this wide tunnel, made possible by three or four mining drones that scarp the place but now it was some kind of abandoned industrial storage area. Suddenly every Aleph soldier and remote stopped as a naga taking point just activate her camouflage and disappeared in the darkness. Everyone started taking defensive positions, the remotes started making a perimeter along the tunnel, the Proxy started moving its bodies accordingly to each boy tactical need and our Lieutenant, a Shukra, tag along with a Sophotect and looked for a decent place to be, not to far and open, but close and safe. I followed my fire team that for once had some living company as this time a Deva was also deployed on the Core.

Aleph side/ Aerial view

We could barely see where the enemy was at, just some support units, a remote and nothing more. We had a pinpoint of doubtful things on the ground but still the massive lack of information was quite taunting, enhanced with the bad visibility it was almost a little to much. Still we were sent on a wide list of tests and on top of that now we had to get rid of the Combined Army forces so I had to make some effort to keep my head cold unlike the remotes around me.

ACT 1

OSS started with some reconnaissance, as a Naga moved from the right and the Posthuman using its Mk5 body moved through the left. The Naga stop advancing when she found a Shasvastii seed -embryo whose mine almost killed her after barely dodging the explosion. She then proceed to retreat and take a defensive position. Meanwhile the Mk5 manage to get a line of sight with an enemy support unit and shoot without success but shortly after, the Mk58 was fighting with its knife against a Taiga that jumped over him. Finally me and my Core started to move forward but as we crossed a blast a blast of a plasma rifle hit our missile launcher almost everyone else, I was the last member to cross and that alone save from the hit while the Deva was alive but with her right half arm was melting away. Every remote of the Core was completely shot down. This was starting to look really bad, but it was too early to start making any kind of conclusion.

OSS Core dismantled by plasma rifle

I could hear the Sophotect gasp while she started moving her Yudbot behind and one by one repairing the unconscious Rems from my Core and Healing the Deva. This alone halt us form attempting any further aggression for the time being so we just took some defensive positions while the Deva cover me from the plasma rifle firing again.

OSS Core repaired and taking defensive positions

Our Zayin moved forward and took point because the Taigas were starting to lose the small patience they had and started advancing. On by one, almost every Taiga that tried to get close and shred some OSS Operative got completely annihilated. The Mk5 body was lost during this rush attack, also the Naga that managed to fail a really easy shot. Shortly after our Zayin HMG was starting to cool down, a paratrooper fell down and advance the HMG managed to kill him but in return the Remote was deactivated by a chain rifle.

Damaged Rebot Zayin

After that the CA Remote with a Plasma Rifle was helped by a hacker and then started advancing trying to find easy targets and one of those was me. After hitting again the Deva and broking a Lamedth the Remote got me. Gladly a good perk of working with Aleph is their insurance, it includes extra L-host that are made for early death complications. But don't worry they are very basic nothing I’m just the same as ever, with nothing more and it has no downside for the company.
Going back to the report, the CA Remote decide not to push more because many of our guns were just waiting for it to pop out.

Combined Army remote advancing

ACT 2

The Aleph Core tried to advance but after the last movements there was this dead zone where nobody could keep advancing as mines, missiles, bullets would start to pour down for anybody of the both sides. The Deva took revenge of the MK5 proxy, the Naga and.. its weird to say but me. She took down the two remaining Taigas and then a Dakini finished the CA Rem. After that once again all Aleph Forces rearranged themselves and took defensive positions while the Sophotect went and repaired the Lamedth,

Then Shasvastii started appearing, falling from nowhere, one actually managed to fall behind our Shukra and blow his head into pieces. At the same time many Seed embryos hatched into fully developed soldiers that went into suppressive fire, adding to the dead zone. On of their worms tried to sneak up and harm our HVT in his way to repair their remote but was discovered and fired upon before being able to do anything.

At the end thing where dire for both ends, Aleph had lost their Lieutenant but CA Armies where also almost with no soldiers capable to do the mission, nobody could cross the middle of the table form any point and the time was starting to choke both armies.

ACT 3

OSS had really little options to work with, they still had enough bodies on the field but without leadership the perfect oiled cog that this sectorial is started to slow down and freeze. Even with that orders where still clear, there were some things that needed to be done but trying to do any of those would be too much of a risk and is was concluded that the greater possibility of success was to stand our ground, defend our HVT and make the CA movements be the ones to contain the greatest risk possible.

Mk2 & Warcor repositioning

First, the Mk2 and a Warcor moved to get a line of sight between the infiltrating Sahsvastii and our HVT while using as little as possible the long lines that go through the Shasvastii deployment zone. After that the Fireteam moved one last time with the goal of making the Missile launcher being able cover the whole battleground, well at leas as much as possible, meanwhile the remaining members made a safe zone around him.

Remaining OSS Core members holding their ground

At the end OSS had to rely on ending the remaining CA forces while they move and that had to be made before they even tried to accomplish any objective because this time it was not about aggression, so surviving was the last concern of the moment. The Shasvastii tired but even if they managed to squeeze through OSS defences they realized their defeat. One last attempt was made by their Lieutenant that managed to make an objective but died afterwards.

At the End OSS had won and the Shasvastii started a retreat into the smaller darker tunnels of the place. Not many losses were made to both sides and that usually means that we are going once again into those tunnels and patrol for any sightings of undesirables in short notice. I gotta say that this L-Host is quite nice, I think is actually a couple of years younger... I’m sure many of may colleagues will be quite jealous of it. Even so now I understand why nobody wanted this job, it is excruciating and well I have actually died once so I’m thinking to ask for a little extra form the company-

Linette stopped writing the report, looked over the half eaten ration and a gasp of frustration escaped from her mouth. The sliding door opened in an instant and a beautiful Woman in a Pitch black bodysuit handed over a small device to the CSU before the door closed again. She was quite intrigued with many things on the Aleph HQ but that woman, tall, fit, hourglass body with long red hair was the one with the top spot. She had never see it on the battlefield, or making rounds or anything outside of the building. At first she was sure that it was one of the Ausras as the body is quite similar to those but after the first week she started having doubts. The only thing she managed to get from eavesdropping some conversations and looking some of the logs in specific places of the base was her name. She also wasn't very sure its was her name, maybe it was the name of a new unit, or body type. All she got was that that woman had some connection to “A.O.I.D.E.” Maybe it was just a codename for some project or secret mission where only some units had full knowledge, but this was quite common specially on the OSS and if it was something picking her interest it was also something she had no need to know if the Central Command haven't told her anything. She shrug off his doubts and connected the Device, Linette started reading her next mission briefing, hoping this distraction would spice up the horrendous remains of her RED-07 ration.

NOTES

The mission we were playing was the Pakngein Nbis one, Highly Classified with the extra modifications. This because my opponent wanted to try the mission and that's why on the Army list you will notice the extra 1 SWC.
My enemy proxied some units, all according the established rules by CB as he usually plays Jaqqislam.
Also I’m having less time to make this reports, so sorry for the loss of details.
Sorry for any errors on the writing, English is not my first language.

Well for the End, some ambience music good for the battle and the tunnels of the Chimneys...
