Asteroid Blues

I'm playing for PanOceania as JSA as to me it makes more sense from a fluff perspective. They were the key reason we became independent and here, the primary NA2 focus is on the Ikari, who laugh at the JSA codes of honor.

This was my first time playing in a bit so I was a little rusty. We played the Exfiltration mission from the Recon+ ruleset. It didn’t go well for me.

My opponent won initiative and chose to go first, so I had him deploy first.

On his left was a Haris team of two Marauders and Rosie with a Grunt Lt in the back. In the center was a 112 and a Maverick and on the right were two camo tokens that were Foxtrots.

On my left I deployed a Keisotsu Lt and paramedic, a Shikami and a Kempetai. In the center was Yuriko Oda and on the right was a Karakuri and Yao Zao.

Turn 1

My opponents first move was to charge the Maverick forward and engage the Shikami. The Shikami won the role and the Maverick was knocked out. Not a bad start. Sadly, things went downhill from here fast. The 112 managed to cautious move up to the Maverick and revive her. She then destroyed the mine and engaged the Shikami again, this time winning and taking him out. The Maverick continued the charge and wounded the Karakuri but was taken out by a crit from the Keisotsu paramedic. My opponent then moved his Foxtrots, 112 and Lt towards the civilians that needed to be extracted. My Karakuri got a free shot but the Foxtrot tanked it. He then placed the Lt. on suppression.

I healed the Shikami and he charged forward, hoping to take out the Lt. It was not to be. Instead, both the Lt. and the Foxtrot hit and took out the Shikami. I then healed the Karakuri before attempting to engage Rosie. Sadly for me, her accuracy was good and the Karakuri dropped. Moved the Yao Zao forward to revive the Karakuri. Success, but Rosie hit with blast mode, destroying the Yao Zao forcing the Karakuri to make a save, which resulted in her going dogged before being wiped out by Rosie.

Turn 2

My opponent spent the turn finding the correct agents with the Foxtrots and then pulling them back to his deployment zone. I had nothing to ARO with, so it was free movement for him.

I charged Yuriko Oda to the center building to try and secure the HVT while the Kempetai advanced up the flank in the hopes of taking out the Lt. and allowing me to get one agent. The Kempetai couldn’t overcome the suppression fire and was killed. At this point I couldn’t do anything, and we called the game.
