This task was beneath Rakash V.
The smuggler teams had managed to bring in the first few crates however now with the increased patrols and heightened military presence they had to be more circumspect. They'd left the caches in one of the designated safe locations, this time a disused ship breaking facility. It should be a routine collection manageable by the lighter elements of the SEF but instead contact had been brought in to do this job.
The Prime Aspect had dispatched Master Sergeant Hvraan's assault team to collect supplies, two baggage bots and a hacker with her pet drone in tow had been attached to the team, useful for carrying the boxes at least.
Samaritan Voth would be in his element, sculking around in the shadows down here on the lower levels but sending a kill squad of suryats and an assault team of Xeodron was too much for this, perhaps this time the EI had its intel wrong. The Aspect had assured Master Sergeant Hvraan that these supplies were of maximum importance to the great undertaking.
It appeared the EI had been correct, a patrol of knights was sweeping the area for the cargo. It looked like Rakash V would be needed after all.
MS Hvraan - "Rakash V take up defensive positions, auxilliary units to the flanks"
Ikadron A - +Affirmative+
Bit - "Taking cover here."
GS Kodrak - "Underfire by a knight fireteam, I've stalled their advance but I'm falling back to cover before they get a lock on me with that missile launcher"
MS Hvraan - "All units, prepeare to assault the enemy position!"
GS Kodrak - "Affirmative, engaging now. FOR THE SUPREMACY!"
LX5 - One target eliminated, damage sustained from massed light arms fire.
LX6 - Range favours scatter laser engaging... Target eliminated.
LX6 - Flanking knight team.
S Voth - "The Father Knight has been eliminated, I have one of the three supply crates in my possession.
LX6, flank the main team and eliminate them."
LX6 - Engaging...
MS Hvraan - "Auxiliary unit, advance the flank and bring the enemy in to quantronic assault range"
Ikadron A - Order Confirmed
INTERCEPTED ENEMY COMMUNICATIONS -
A - "Father Officer, come in father officer, what are your orders?"
B - "He's not responding we should take this fight to the enemy!"
MS Hvraan - "The enemy momentum has stalled, Kodrak is down Voth, LX5, advance and secure the centre of the battlefield"
S Voth - " I have immobilised one of the knights in our Quantronic snare, Ikadron A, incinerate the units before the knight has the chance to reset"
Ikadron A - Order Confirmed
S Voth - "Ikadron seize the immobile santiago, and the box he carries"
Ikadron A - Order confirmed
S Voth - "Advancing, I see an enemy to capture"
Santiago Ortega screamed in impotent rage as the Ikadron dragged him further into the tunnels of the gallery maze, beside him The disquieting form dragged the body of Hospitalier brother Devon behind him, he still appeared alive. For his the sake of his soul he hoped Devon bled out before the Combined army did what they intended with them.
So in the end I had 2 supply boxes and 2 classifieds (Red Capture and Rescue) to 1 completed classified (Telemetry) for a 9 - 1
We also had another turn to play but we called it at this stage as both of my opponents remaining troops had been bricked by blitzen shots: too disgraced to fight but too alive to go into retreat.
While not technically in the rules we decided to allow the Ikadron to just casevac the IMM2 Santiago, I had the orders to kill him and take the box but it's far more horrifying to drag away the helpless body of the noble knight and when Graviton is in command every attack is a terror attack!
So now I'm going to have to paint some sepsitorised knights.
As mentioned in lists, my opponent managed to use what I think is actually an illegal haris, but it's all cool, mistakes happen.
what can I say? well deserved mention by the CB team, well deserved 10 stars and a commendation…near perfection
Top quality report and thematic terrain. Superb job.
*Laughs in evil* We were discussing a phase 2 narrative rescue mission between myself and probably one of our aleph players (Xela or Thamoz)
Great report again, thank you!
What an horrible destiny awaits these Knights…
Excellent report Commander Graviton, congrats on the victory
