“We interrupt your regular scheduled programing to bring you braking news from the Main Strip in Novyy Bangkok. Live on the scene, we now take you to Kisha Katayotta with an exclusive on site report. “

“Thanks Tom. I’m live on the scene here at Novyy Bankok’s Main Strip, just outside Harry’s Bar where an intense firefight has just broken out between a group of thuggish Ariadnan Kazaks and our local heroes, and benevolent protectors, the Ikari Company.

I just so happened to be relaxing and enjoying a beverage at the reputable establishment Harry’s Bar, when gunfire broke out across the Strip. I climbed to the roof of the building just in time to see a brutal explosion across the Strip, instantly killing a local dignitary from our friends and allies the independent nation of Japan.

To my horror I witnessed a ferocious dog-faced warrior of the Kazak people break cover from a nearby building, only to be gunned down by our favorite local Aristeia legend – Wild Bill! It was at this point that it became clear there was more going on than a simple brawl in our peaceful neighborhood. Multiple clandestine operatives of the Ariadnan nation stalked the back alleys and side streets of the Main Strip.

In just the past few minutes, our friends in the Ikari Company burst into action to defend the innocent people from these abhorrent aggressors.

Determined to disable the attack at its core, multiple brave and upstanding Yuan Yuan protectors struck deep into the Kazak lines, only to be shot down in cold blood. Sensing the fight was beginning to get away from them, our local hero Yojimbo surged forward to curb the threat of more dog warriors. He has disappeared into the night, and I fear for his safety.” 

“Can you tell us more about these aggressors’ motives Kisha? What do they want?”

“At this stage Tom, it is unclear what these intruders are attempting to accomplish, but it is possible that it has something to do with the Japanese delegate who lost her life –

Sorry Tom! I’m going to need to interrupt here. It looks like a valiant Daiyokai soldier has committed to the battlefield and started advancing on the buildings that the Kazak forces have started hunkering down in.” 

FAWOOOOSSHHHHH… BOOM!!!

“Kisha! What was that? Are you OK?”

“Tom – I’m still here Tom. The Daiyokai has just unleashed a portable missile into a tower on the far side of the strip. It looks as though, in their infinite wisdom, the Ikari High Command has authorized lethal force. It appears to be a direct hit to the tower. It’s hard to imagine the intended target survived that attack.”

“Kisha we’re going to need to cut you off at this point. Please, for your own safety, find a place to lay low until the fighting has subsumed. We look forward to your post-conflict interview with Lieutenant Makiko.
