From the moment I stepped off the shuttle I knew this assignment was going to be a hot one the tension in the air needed the smallest of sparks and this whole rock explode into billions of tiny fragments. Customs was a nightmare even with my press pass I felt violated, poked prodded, scanned, credentials checked and rechecked.
I was almost late for my introductory meeting with the Military Orders combat group I had been assigned to Lady Magdalen Crusaders lead by Farther Bartos Sanctus Vastator. He did not even look up from his holographic map display “Warcor Richard D Dastardly I hope?”
“Yes Farther repor”
“He’s here, get him escorted to our Lady, Docks sector 2” he almost yelled in his comlink cutting me off. The door opened behind me two Order Sergeants pulled me out and roughly quick marched away.

With in a few minutes I was standing in the presence of Lady Magdalen Crusaders being lead by Jeanne dArc herself. The troops deployed with around the Docks administration buildings waiting for the expected Yu Jing incursion.
“Don’t expect that press pass to shield you, follow my orders and keep you eyes on the enemies they are the ones more likely to shoot you on sight” Jeanne’s last words to me before hell broke loose.
Squad comms cut in “Targets spotted Invincibles, who the hells pint did Bartos spill in Murphys? “

The crackle of smalls arm fire and rockets filled the air
“Husong destroyed good shooting Sergeant Cecile…… Holy hell Liu Xing landing on my position”
The heavy infantry power suit hulk came crashing down on rooftop walkway above us and within seconds smart missiles were raining down on our troops FO and Cecile fell first with more to follow.
More missiles rained down on area close to Father-Knight Stevo fire team. “Looks like our Santiago been hit no visual but that hell storm was right on top of his last position. “
“Copy that Father, Kell if pull back and reholo on my mark you get to that wall and stun anything that comes your way” Jeanne fire in her eyes looking at me, “I heading up there.. MARK”

Jeanne rushed forward to the building me barely keeping hitting my mark before she burst though the doors.
“Shit I’ve been immobilized cant get holos up FU zzzzzzzzzzz” another cascade of missiles fell on Santiago Kells position. Small arms fire cracked from the roof as more missile found their mark on the Farther Knight team in a matter of seconds only myself and two Order Sergeants remained.
“Paramedic Catherine get Stevo up, Sergeant Nicolas your acting Lt, Crusader Gaiman uploading enemy Lt position we need her gone that will give Catherine the time she needs. Bartos out. “ Even over long range comms you could sense dredd in his voice.

“Shit she’s moved up I’m too close” heavy machine gun fire filled the air quickly followed by two shotgun blasts that brought a moment of silence.
My squad comms broke the silence “Bless you Catherine sit Rep? “
“Father look out” that was the first and only time I heard the Medic a young woman with no fear or trembling in her voice. There was no escaping yet another volley of smart missiles. Shocked I stood there panic racing though my veins the stillness of death in the air.

Boot steps broke the silence to my right a few meters away, picking round the wall I spotted a huge terracotta Tai Sheng Chain-Colt at the ready. Thank God he was looking the other way if not I’m not sure I would be here to make this report. Or the report to O-12 about the illegal weapon the Yu Jing are using.
