Asteroid Blues

The unit (see attached Order of Battle) has been deployed as security for the Pakngein Nbis Control Center.
We have detected a Combined Army task force (recognized by composition - see attached enemy OrBat - as a detachment of Onyx Contact Force), and deployed to intercept as follows:

- Sekban fireteam in the building on the left flank. Sekban expertise was used to advance our control of the terrain [OOC: Advanced Deployment L1, as they are medium infantry)
- both al'Hawwa infiltrated into the central building, right and front of the Sekban.

- Kaplan Haris Team deployed centrally in the controlled area,
- The drones were used to set up a defensive perimeter in the controlled area.

While deploying, we came into contact with a Yuan Yuan present in the area - quite a stocky one - and comissioned his services. Previous experience of working with Yuan Yuan mercenaries proved very useful there. He was retained as aerially deployable asset.

The Onyx TF deployed a Suryat HMG and EVO drone in the middle of our right flank, but well-covered with terrain layout. While the rest of the flank was free of enemy, there was no way of exploiting it without coming under long-range fire.

The majority of Combined assets were deployed using a building on our left flank as a strongpoint.
It included:
- a complete Unidron fireteam, including a Plasma Sniper and Missile Launcher - both covering long approach routes,
- a Nexus Operative, apparently enemy commander,
- a MedTech Obsidion Medchanoid with 2 Slave Drones (one inside of the building)
- a Makreep sniper on the rooftop.
- two Ikadrons hiding among supply containers left to the building. These were marked as priority targets, given TF Muezza's previous experience with ikadrons.

We have also noticed presence of a single human in PanOceanian uniform among the enemy troops, hidden in the building and covering left side of it through a window with a boarding shotgun (after-action check confirmed it was not a Shasvasti infiltrator, but a genuine human). We assume he was sepsitorized - may Allah give peace to this poor soul [OOC - this was, of course, Fusilier Angus]

Easily predictable, the Yuan Yuan didn't wait for orders and dropped (by be beard of the Prophet, one can't call that a "combat jump"! He hit the landing zone like a lead weight, we still can't figure out how the structure remained standing after that!), braving enemy countermeasures. Once on top of the enemy blockhouse, he roared something about "artichokes", and, by Allah, "garlic sauce" as well, charging at the Makreep Sniper, and pretty enthusiastically trying to skewer him with a Shock CCW.
Without much result, but he kept the sniper pretty much occupied.

As usual, Yuan Yuan's custom of gathering battlefield "trophies" did not fail to surprise us: this one carried an X-Visor, completely useless for his loadout...

The Sekban Fireteam rushed into action, intending to capitalize on the disruption caused by the Yuan Yuan. Sergeant Agca put the sepsitorized Fusilier out of his misery with an accurate Spitfire burst, then corporal Baydar attempted to take down the Unidron Sniper. After a brief firefight, however, he was killed on the spot (managing, however, to damage another Unidron that was leading the Fireteam. It remained active despite damage, but fortunately collapsed a few moments later [OOC: went Dogged].
The fireteam fell back into defensive position in the building.

Al'Hawwa Petty Officer 2nd Class Cakir, the Forward Observer, attempted a daring raid into the enemy-held building, but was discovered by the Sorogat, and in consequence lacked the element of surprise when he opened fire with his Boarding Shotgun. He was killed, but nevertheless managed to damage a Slave drone and the Sniper Unidron.

The Kaplan Haris went into action, and indeed proved to be very effective. They swiftly made their way into the central building, where corporal Davutoglu neutralised the Sorogat with an accurate Spitfire burst. The team then repositioned, sending Wild Bill forward and cpl Davutoglu neutralising both Ikadrons. Wild Bill reached the corner of the enemy blockhouse, and promptly destroyed a ML Unidron. With all this done, technical sergeant Erbakan was able to reach and succesfully Retroengineer enemy HVT.

Onyx Medchanoid promptly repaired the Plasma Sniper Unidron, and their commander reformed the ling around himself, i.e. the Nexus.

Ko Dali attempted to Combat Jump on top of the Onyx blockhouse and intervene into the melee there. She, however, miscalculated her retro-thruster blast, and ended up landing on the left flank, in front of a wall, and, very fortunately, in plain view of the Sekban team, who made short work of her.

Needles to say, the brawl on the rooftop continued uninterrupted. And without noticeable results.

The reformed Unidron Fireteam advanced, killing wild bill and attempting to eliminate tech. sgt Erbakan, but was repulsed, losing the leading Unidron to accurate fire from both Kaplan and Sekban cpl. Fraserli.

At this point we were pretty sure the enemy was on their last legs, and a decisive push was all that was needed to end it.

The Yuan Yuan on the roof provided those mercs are overblown: he took a bullet to the paunch wrestling with the Makreep. Seems for the immediate future he isn't going to munch on anything. Though I must admit, he kept that sniper busy, otherwise the Makrep could've caused us some trouble.

The Sekban team pressed forward, with sgt Agca and lieutenant Gulpinar securing a damaged Ikadron each [OOC: for the purpose of the Capture objective], while medical sergeant Hayrettin discharged his shotgun at the Sniper Unidron in the building (failing to impress it much, really... but luckily catching the Nexus - enemy Lt. - in the blast, and killing it).
Corporal Ismailoglu ran to the end of the wall, and eliminated the Medchanoid with two well-placed Chaincolt blasts, disabling the Sniper Unidron in the process. While he was wounded by return fire, sgt Hayrettin quickly came to his side and administered effective first aid [OOC: completing the Classified: Experimental Drug objective].

Note - the new field dressing we've been given for testing is not good, it gets all slippery under actual field conditions. Send it back to R&D. Sgt Hayrettin managed to get the job done using the standard-issue field dressing [OOC: I failed the Doctor roll and had to re-roll it with a Command Token).

The last thing to do was call in a Rafiq REM to take mapping data from the enemy vector of approach [OOC: Mapping objective. Successful].

The enemy, apparently disorganized and with failing morale [OOC; Onyx started the turn in LoL and Retreat, so it was the last turn of the game], made a desperate attempt to gather intel data before withdrawing, the EVO REM charging toward the Kaplan [OOC: attempt to make Classified: DataScan objective]. It was met with accurate fire from tech. sgt Erbakan, who promptly disposed of it with a well-placed Blitzen warhead.

We had no problem mopping the remaining enemies up.

Casualty report:
- Sekban cpl Baydar. KIA. Due to EM damage from the plasma hit, his Cube has proven unrecoverable.
- al-Hawwa PO Cakir. KIA. As in the case of cpl Baydar, Cube was unrecoverable.
- Wild Bill. KIA. Cube recovered and passed to the appropriate authorities.
- Yuan Yuan "Gorge" (real name unknown, we only know his pseudonym...). WIA. Undergoing recovery. Though given his conduct once he was taken into medical care, I strongly suggest charging him premium rates for medical services, rather than assuming medical attention to be free for an allied soldier. We need to maintain at least some standards, by Allah!

TF Muezza will be ready for subsequent duties within 6 hours (rest, recovery and resupply required).
However, we have been informed to expect transfer orders, with next assignment taking us away from Novyy Bangkok.
