With the ‘success’ on liberty cargo command sends orders to redirect troops to harrys bar, we will have one of the emperors elite with us on this one, cant we be trusted to follow orders? Our fearless Hsien leader brings a veteran squad to the party kitted out with the finest non lethal weaponry we can buy, we are going hunting for witnesses and the alien cell that sparked off this conflict.. Aida seems to think we are on the right track, I think shes bored, we have no more clandestine instructions from yanjing.
On arrival at the main strip we discover a clutch of mercenaries claiming to be from the quapu khalqi, a mystery pistol wielding man in white leads a KTS detatchment from the right a heap of remotes are dug in around the walkways and a small squad of ghulams holds the roof of a sushi hut. They claim to be duelling enthusiaths from the wild bill fan club, seems highly irregular: time to enforce some order in this dump, we sieze the initiative and attack.
We begin with a bunch of impetuous advancing and then the fearless hsien personally reduces the quapu khalqi defence removing the well positioned djanbazan hmg through smoke. Two flash pulse bots take hits from his hmg, and the linked ghulam sniper is also forced to hit the deck. Liberto places a mine in the midfield accurately identifying the haqquislam camo midfielder as a thread. Aida advances on the left using some donated monk smoke to avoid leila sherifs marksman rifle, I get mine over the left side antenna.
Brunmar drops in yuan yuans, the first takes out both madtraps, fat yuan yuan drops way the back and the last scatters. Ghulam link spends some time spec firing, which removes both aida and her mine, then fails miserably to kill the monk next to her, wasting most of the yuan yuans orders in the process. Rafiq remote tries and fails 5 times to perform identity check at -6 (red classified are great!). Wild bill and his kaplan haris fall into lunahs trap I score a kill against the haris model, wild bill advances some towards the right hand antenna.
With aida down our chances of gluing the ghulam LT are low so I decide to secure my extreme predjudice classified. With 2 Yuans yuans in my DZ this is a matter of restraining some impetuous and the shooting the appropriate targets to unconcious and scoring 2 coup de grace, this is done without much fuss. My liberto tries to discover shoot our friendly camo enemy but WIP12 sucks. I end up going for a long walk with my yisheng doctor over to the left antenna using smoke to protect from long range combi fire, I get there but without the orders to tap the gadget and I end up stuck in the midfield. (big blunder)
Of course my knowledgable opponent takes full advantage, wild bill swings in and glues the yisheng from waaay down range. The Ghulam sniper pops off my warcors head and sets up to aro. Rafiq REM finally scores identity check after 7 attempts. Both haqq engineers push upfield fixing both damaged REMs finishing in total cover ready for the final turn. The turns objective scores put me 1-3 down on points going into turn 3.
I shift pools around intending for my daofei to do all the work, its a tough day ahead. Hsien LT takes out the ghulam sniper overwatch at last with his hmg, I leave him standing up to draw AROs... I might need the chance to fire his ADH launcher... enemy smoke is a big problem and my other AROs wont stop it. Liberto finally detects the al hawwa FO but distressingly kills him dead with the Light shotgun, doh! we needed to glue that corpse! Liberto keeps going, drops a flash bot but sadly only gives the kaplan engineer in the blast the chance to drop prone behind his charge (stupid 8pt mobile cover), at least hes covering the rafiq? Daofei taps the right side antenna, thankfully in one order, I needed that, I then try to drop both wild bill and the najjarun engineer with AP rounds, sadly I get in LoF with a 3rd flash bot, only wild bill takes damage (NWI) but I narrowly avoid both blind and IMM2 status effects. Daofei cant take this heat I have to recamo and loop around the left side instead this leaves me with only enough orders to finish off wild bill and glue the rafiq, I leave him standing in the open next to the liberto.
In response quapu khalqi only need to drop smoke on the rafiq, walk the najjarun in and fix it. This is done without much fuss and after much deliberation brunmar ends the game with a pile of orders left as any risks he might now take could grant me a random win.
Investigation of the bar proves fruitless, our operatives bungled it, ending up incapacitated or knee deep in dead witnesses, we cant even be sure that the gunman in white was Wild Bill. Aida will recover rapidly from her shrapnel wounds, perhaps too rapidly, we are starting to suspect she is not what she seems. Send in the clean-up team we cant keep paying the club compensation.
We played hunting party at harrys bar, got defeated by qapu khalqi this time despite the best efforts of the daofei at the games end. Opportunity to glue both the najjarun and kaplan engineers was lost and brunmars recovery was assured for the final round. Not only did he glue my yisheng down right on the left antenna in turn 2, Wild Bill held the elite daofei infiltrator off just long enough for his cronies to win the day. What a hero. Boldly advancing Aida up to the left console and mining the area would have been a good strategy last game, but the linked ghulam NCO really does not care for non marker state midfielders taking out the deployables into the bargin speculative fire rules...
Bad luck. But keep up the excellent reports.
Nice batrep!
We shall overcome!
Irem was there-Irem is here-Irem will be here. The snakes-behind-the-mirror seduced your dreams by their satin tongues before the battle, maybe you are ready for becoming a Salt.
OK, sunless sea off! At first glance I thought this would be another glorious victory for Yu Jing. Daofei coming out and so. But looks like your opponents a prominent player, I can say it due to his tactical choices.
Very well wrotten, nice antennas. Is it from Terracutter?
Very nice report. Very detailed. Keep up the good work, and better luck next time.
You took your time to do a great report, even if it was a defeat you can feel proud of your work.
Great write-up. Keep up the great work!
Great report, we’ll get ’em next time!
