Asteroid Blues

– “Sir, is this the place where we should be?”
– “That’s what lieutnant Sobel says. He’s our liason officer and we can’t do anything but trust him”. Damn rookie tours are gonna get me kill, thought the Scots Guard.

The march kept going ’till reaching a little habitat compound, where the lieutnant said he felt his neck itching (he said it was his “danger sign”) .

-“At least he’s in front of the formation”, mumbled another volunteer.

“SSSSShhhhhhhh, men. Everyone deploy, defensive stance. Mike, come here and learn some spotting with me. You, engineer, park the Mul just beside us.

The lieutnant and his pal got behind a house and the mul besides. He leaned out but couldn’t see anything.

-“Damn. There seems to be something out there. I’m gonna make it to the rood. Stay here, Myke”. He reached the corner between the other guy and the mul and went stairs up without any kind of precaution. Set himself behind the roof wall when he saw a flash.

“What the…?”

He just froze before the trail of a missile heading his way.

-“Fudge”

Kaaabooooooom! the blast dissintegrated him and also hit the mul below him.

-“Contaaaaaaaaaaact!” screamed Myke.

Another Scots guard embroided in his camo, near the fallen officer, saw the trail and look at its origin: some kind of friar raising his fist all happy about his blast.

-“Haud yer weesht ye bawbag”. He locked him in his sight and shot his full burst. Saw the moment when the impacts went through him and fell.

Wallace heard the noises and set his men to move north, in order to secure the area.

-“God damn liasons pure barry! The Command is getting my messages. Alright lads, let’s get forward and take this northern corridor. Left flank cover us and smoke any bastard that may come!”

This is how a rookie tour ends up pretty wrong.

That nefarious mistake of the liason officer took him and the uragan down just in first movement. Morale dwelled just after that, but guys kept moving forward and trying their best.

Wallace and his FT of Wulvers and Scots Guards took positions inside enemy’s nearest ZO but couldn’t hold them back. The whole team was wiped just in turn 1, sadly.

Uxía had an epic fail dodging with smoke: she tripped while throwing the grenade and the guy shooting at here didn’t needed to aim, she chased the bullet by herself.

There was nothing else I could do but to avoid my foe to win too much, but I could only re-kill the missile launcher from the beggining.

Was a good game to remember not to be dumb while moving
