Disrupting the Aggressors

VS Haqqislam
Holyhippie

With the aggression of Haqqislam unchecked, the whole human sphere could be plunged into chaos due to Shasvastii infiltration. OSS operatives were deployed to disrupt the new Nomad-Haqqislamic communications hub in the Cosmika Headquarters.

Notes: Sorry for the unpainted models. Lots of models were proxied. Holyhippie was over for D&D and we decided to play with my various Ariadna and O-12 models. Please harass him over his forgetting his army to our non-planned game. Proxies are listed below.

To be added after work. 😀

Preparation: We drew classified objectives. Aleph selected after drawing: Mapping, HVT: ID, and Extreme Prejudice.
Ramah selected after drawing: Nanoespionage, Sabotage, and Rescue.
Map and Initiative: This was how we setup the map (from Aleph's side). To keep things interesting, we had a mix of indoor and outdoor antennas, on multiple levels. In addition, the round piece of terrain by the center catwalk was declared an infinitely tall fountain (Cosmika is getting fancy on these things) that counted as a saturation zone.
The map from the Ramah side. Aleph won initiative and chose to go first.
Aleph Deployment: The Aleph commander began by deploying the HVT (The outrageous Thamyris) underneath the bridge on their left flank.
To protect the HVT, a Danavas with HD+ was deployed prone, behind the left Aleph side antenna. On the catwalk the HVT was under, Dart was deployed in cover and also prone.
Up behind the central antenna on Aleph side, a Proxy MK. 1 Hacker was deployed prone.
In the center building, against the back of the Aleph deployment, a Dakini fireteam was deployed, with the CSU prone in the front room, the Paramedic and Sniper at the bottom of the stairs, and the last one and leader (last member of the team was on the roof) covering the back window. In addition, a Sophotect was deployed under the staircase.
On the roof of the middle building, Aleph deployed the remainder of the team, a Dakini with HMG, hiding in full cover. Along with the Dakini was deployed a Lamedh Rebot and a scattered Netrod. (Boy was I worried it was gonna fly off the board!)
On the right flank, Aleph deployed the Shukra Prone and in cover and an Arjuna with her Kiranbots. A netrod also landed at the base of a tower located here. (Note: The building the Shukra is located in was selected for Sabotage.)
Lastly, Aleph deployed a Proxy Mk. 5 Forward Observer (and Liaison Officer) to the far right flank. The Proxy Mk. 2 Sniper was deployed to the left most tower in hidden deployment. (Not pictured)
Ramah Deployment: In a bold move, Ramah deployed their HVT on their left flank, in easy reach of the Aleph right flank.
Ramah's left flank was held by a Warcor and a Taureg Sniper (not pictured since it was in hidden deployment.) Presumably to bait Aleph into going for the HVT and dying.
On the catwalk in the middle, left side of the Ramah Deployment, they deployed a Mukhtar haris, with Leila Shariff and Haris Mukhtar on top, and a Forward Observer Mukhtar (Both team lead and Liaison Officer) below the tower. All were prone. (Note, the crate in front of Leila was selected for Mapping.)
In the middle, right side of the Ramah deployment, three Fanous remotes were deployed to cover various approaches. A Taureg with Boarding Shotgun was deployed in hidden deployment behind the wall ahead of the remotes. (Not pictured)
In the large building on Ramah's right flank, a Ghulam Core was deployed. The Lieutenant Ghulam prone under the front window, a Doctor in full cover by the door, and a Kharwarij Chain of Command and leader of the team further back in the building. (Rest of the team located on the roof.)
On the upper floor of the right side building, a Naffatun (prone) and Kharwarij (to cover the right flank) were deployed.
Aleph Turn 1: The Shukra was first to go, standing up and sliding over to view the HVT. Ramah had been waiting for this and revealed the Taureg hoping to kill the Aleph Lieutenant, but the Shukra expertly dodged the shot.
With the Taureg now pinning down the right flank, Aleph had the proxy MK.1 assist the fire of the Dakini Sniper, which then ran up the stairs to let loose two shots into the Taureg and one in the Warcor, killing the Warcor and injuring the Taureg.
Now clear on the right flank, Aleph pushed their advantage, Identifying the HVT and then killing them with an dual SMG burst from the Proxy Mk. 5.
Clearing up some disruption on the left side of the map, Aleph first tried to snipe the Fanous on the tower with the sniper, who got critically flash pulsed. Taking his place, the HMG managed to pull off disabling the remote with a burst of fire. (Ignore my girlfriend on the couch playing Minecraft.)
Using the last of group 2's order, the Arjuna captured the antenna she was laying behind and through the building in front of her and up the ladder with her bots to try and take care of the Mukhtar team. Than dodge the templates, they fired back and killed her, but Leila and the Forward Observer were isolated as a result.
Using coordinated orders, Aleph pushed Dart up the left side of the board and first killed the Fanous below her, before going prone and trying to E/M Grenade the Ghulam core.
Lastly, Aleph Coordinated orders between the Proxy Mk. 1 Hacker and the Danavas, to hack 4 more antennas, securing more than half of the possible antennas by the end of first turn. (Noted with the flipped upside down objective markers.)
Ramah Turn 1: To begin, Ramah moved the second Taureg from group 2 to 1 and converted the 2 irregular orders on the Mukhtar and Leila to regular orders. They then brought on a Hakim Doctor to get the Taureg sniper back in the fight. This exposed him to fire from the Dakini HMG and injured him as well.
The Taureg Sniper stood up and wounded the Proxy Mk. 5 and scared off the Dakini HMG. (Not pictured)
Not knowing a sniper was watching, the Kharwarij superjumps forward to barely catch and kill dart, but ultimately get downed to a sniper shot from the Proxy Mk. 2 hidden across from him.
Revealing the Taureg with shotgun, he pushes forward to down the Danavas hiding behind the antenna.
Taking some risks, the Taureg charges forward in the center of the Aleph deployment, being missed by every attack and nearly killing the Shukra Lieutenant, who hides after being hit by a long shot on a shotgun. After that, he downs the Lamedh bot who tried to flash pulse him and proceeds to charge the Proxy Mk. 2 Sniper and wound her, before running out of orders. (Sadly forgot to picture its final location on the charge, but he was a lucky bastard dodging 2 snipers, one in a core, an HMG in a core, a Lamedh flash pulsing and a Shukra.
Aleph Turn 2: The Dakini HMG takes point, downing the Taureg when his luck finally runs out. The Sophotect then runs up and fixes the Lamedh, which then the Proxy Mk. 1 uses to assist the fire of the sniper again, who then scares the Taureg into going prone.
With the path cleared, Aleph pushes the Proxy Mk. 5 up to duke it out with the non-isolated who nanopulsers in response. Both die from the fight. The Proxy Mk. 1 takes the Mk. 5's place and makes it to the crate and maps it. Ramah Turn 2: Leila crawls forward to shoot the Proxy Mk. 1 wounding her.
Ramah, using its last command point on a coordinated order, tries to run the previous fireteam out of its spot, loosing the Chain of Command Kharwarij to the Proxy Mk. 2 Sniper. The Ghulam Doctor then scares the Proxy Mk 1. into going prone with a barrage of fire. The Ghulam Lieutenant then picks up the downed Khawarij and moves him into full cover for the Rescue objective.
Trying to clear a path for the Ghulam doctor to get the Nanoespionage on the Danavas, the Taureg Sniper moves to shoot the Proxy Mk. 2 and dies to the Dakini sniper and fails in its task. In addition, the Hakim doctor regenerates his wounds.
Struggling for objectives, the Ramah commander tells the Ghulam Doctor to rush forward anyways, and he dies to the Proxy Mk. 2 sniper.
Lastly the Ramah commander commits to saving who he can, and moves his Liaison Officer Mukhtar back to better cover.

Aleph Turn 3: (Not pictured) The Proxy Mk. 2 climbs down from the tower and kills the Taureg with a coup d'grace. The Sophotect runs up the the Danavas and gets her back up. The Aleph commander passed on the remainder of the orders.

Ramah Turn 3: Ramah realizing pushing forward will not win the game, and will simply deny points to himself, passes on all his orders.

Conclusion:
Aleph secures more antennas for 4 points.
Aleph kills more specialists for 2 points.
Aleph killed the HVT with the Liaison Officer for 1 point.
Aleph completes all classified objectives for 3 points.
-----
Ramah completes 1 classified objective for 1 point.
Ramah has the Liaison Officer survive for 1 point.

Total 10 to 2 Aleph

Thoughts: I could not believe my luck this game. Not one armor save or face to face shot was a success. I only did stuff when Ramah didn't oppose it. Regardless, it was a fun, if bloody game.

I do believe you have previously beaten both him and I in a fashion like the battles we have had in this campaign though and with him losing to me in another bloodbath last week, a bit of sympathy might be in order. I almost feel bad for him. Almost. (He is, as mentioned Haqqislam after all)

  • Captain Jag Kara says:

Hey this one was bloody on both sides. Maybe it’s just you. :p

  • Cdr. Philip von Kruse says:

As usual, a nice and detailed report Jag, though I cannot help feeling sorry for HolyHippie, as I know how harshly you beat our behinds in battles. That said, he is haqqislam, so clearly he deserves it 🙂

  • Melchior says:

Very detailed but informative! Keep up the good work

We do offer free internet connection!
Very detailed report, congrats for the win!

  • Danger Rose says:

*Gasp* unchecked Haqqislam aggression! Whatever could we do!

Don’t kid yourself, this is because Aleph doesn’t like a free Internet and attacks every Arachne node she finds like a rabid squirrel.

Other than that, awesome report! A commendation well earned
