Asteroid Blues

Another fight against Combined Army in the Gallery Maze.

This time, after the failure of Sheskin, the enemy has dispatched a sabotage party consisting of a composite brigade of morat aided by a wing of noctifers commanded by one of the EI aspects — Charontid.

My opponent wins the initiative roll and set up first and takes the first turn.

1st turn — Combined Army
Impetuous Order by Daturazi — Proxy 2 performs ARO and misses — Daturazi thrown Smoke grenade.
Charontid kills Proxy 2 using his lieutenant Order and a regular Order.
Kurgat captures one of the antennas.
Coordinated Order — Raicho Datatracker presses forward, others disperse (Charontid and Daturazi go to central line, Kurgat goes for the next antenna).
Next Order — Raicho uses Tactical Awareness to advance and sets a mine under Proxy 5. He tries to set another mine during next Order, but fails.
Then he kills FO Thorakites with a Crit. Then he gets hit by a mine but successfully passes the saving roll.
During next order he moves forward, meets Proxy 5 and Naga Minelayer and sees the Designated Target.
Proxy passes saves from shotgun but gets blown up by a mine, Designated Target passes saves, Raicho dets hit by Naga and loses a wound.
Raicho shoots again, kills Designated Target and gets hit by Naga again and loses the second wound.
For the rest of the Orders Raicho retreats and hides in a building, Q-Drone prepares to ambush Achilles and Kurgat takes control over one more antenna.

1st turn — Aleph
Achilles Datatracker performs double move, then moves again and kills Q-Drone. Then, as he moves around the building, he slays first Taiga, then Designated Target.
Then Ecdromic appears on the table, gets hit by Ikadron with a flames, fires at Daturazi from a pistol and Daturazi successfully dodge.
Machaon and 2 Thorokitai capture two nearest antennas.

2nd turn — Combined Army
Raicho moves across the deployment zone trying to shoot down the antennas captured by Enginer, but either he misses or I make a very good saving rolls.
Charontid advances through the center and kills Naga Minelayer.
Kurgat captures the central antenna and Raicho destroys it (2 antennas destroyed in total).
Raicho moves, but stops in the wrong place and blocks LoF for Noctifer.

2nd turn — Aleph
Achilles shoots at Daturazi during an Impetuous Order, but he dodges with smoke.
During Coordinated Order Machaon moves towards the antenna.
Achilles moves to the central antenna, Dart kills Kurgat.
During the Lieutenant Order Machaon destroys the antenna, then he advances, captures and destroys another one. Then he presses forward again and destroys the last one, also killing Raicho.

3rd turn — Combined Army
The enemy makes the last attempt to capture the antenna. Noctifer destroys the fourth one, but the fifth remains intact. Raicho pilot dies.

3rd turn — Aleph
Thorakites FO tags the last antenna, and Achilles destroys it. End of the game.
Final score 10:4, my major victory.

The Aleph forces led by Machaon defeat Combined Army again. Although its leader Charontid is still alive, so perhaps we will hear about him again.

P.S. If Machaon will be a leutenant in the 3rd game and it will be against CA again, I will call him Veteran Myrmidon Officer Machaon.

P.P.S. This was one of my best Infinity games. There were a lot of fun moments like Raicho missing the antenna and me passing 2 of 3 saving rolls for it, etc.
I keep playing for vanilla Aleph and like it more and more.
