Asteroid Blues

To be honest, i was brutally shitfaced during the last two days and i have a terrible hangover. So i know that i will f*ck up my battrep-rating with this. But this time there is no narrativ or ongoing story, just me loosing a few words on the game.

Zapp is a realy great guy. He plays with a lot of patience, thirst for knowledge and passion and since our first game he was allways a pretty hard nut to crack. But also since our first game he is waiting for his first victory against me. And this time i wasso damn sure, he will finally get´s it.

We did not talk much about the game befor we played it, so none of us has a list that was specially prepared for countermeasures. I just wrote a list with 2 Fidays because i want to run such a thing for a long time and i thought a nice friday evening game would be the perfect place for that. When i was writing the list, i didn´t know that Zapps list was the absolute kryptonite for what i was going to play. 3 TO Camos, 2 of them directly in front of my DZ and a third one a few inches away from his own DZ, plus Yojimbo with two koalas made sure that i can shove my fidays up the ass.

I tried to use my first fiday on a suicide mission to acitvate the koalas and kill at least one of the link members. Of course i roll a one in this close combat and didn´t hit him. This was my first action but it sets the tone for the rest of the game. With 1 exception i won allmost no face to face roll. My second fiday days in a shootout with a keisotsu, my ragik wasnt able to kill yojimbo with burst 4 on a free-shot and so on and so on.

In exchange zapp shaved my nuts so hard, that i accept my defeat during his second turn and i even start encouraging him to kick my in the groin and i even remind him of lines of fires that he has missed, so he even could kill more of my remotes and stuff like that. And you know what? I was perfectly fine with it. I granted him his victory and it was long overdue, plus he realy earned it. Strong list, no mistakes in gameplay…..but the shit was boiling when i find out that he was so successfull in killing me, that he has shoot me into retreat by the moment i was leading with one more classified fulfilled….i never feeled that bad about a victory ever befor 🙁
