Vanilla Yu Jing vs Vanilla Nomads – Acquisition

After Nik’s YJ and HellBringer’s Nomads tussled in Harry’s Bar you could tell it wouldn’t be the last fight they’d get into. YJ caught wind of the Nomads attempting to acquire some sensitive data and moved in to defend. Both sides were ready for a fight, and neither side was going to back down.

Yu Jing got the jump again, filling the streets with chain rifles and laying down a thick field of suppressing fire. One lone kuang shi, like many before him, made a dash across the battlefield, but this time would be different. On his dash he dodged a crazy koala, traded long range pistols with a Krakot, killing it, chain rifled the Liason Officer Moran Maasai, and survived to set up deep in nomad territory. When the nomads struck back, the kuang shi stood his ground killing a charging Morloc and a Stemplar Zond before going dogged and succumbing to his wounds. The nomads responded by taking advantage of the area’s unique gravitational advantage and air dropped in a Gecko TAG for reinforcements. The Hollow Men layed down some fire, and together the two big guns hunkered down for the next wave of YJ.

Round 2 started off with YJ mimicking the Nomads, taking advantage of the unique gravity pockets to air drop in a Haidao engineer. The Haidao moved in to repair the Rui Shi and added his rifle to the hail of suppressing fire. The Rui Shi continued up the field, attempting to pin the Nomad’s big guns in a corner, and Liason Officer Tai Sheng moved up to secure one of the antennas for YJ. The Nomads kicked off their turn by impetuously killing YJ’s Celestial Guard datatracker with a chain rifle, and the Gecko and Hollow Men responded by trying to pry Tai Sheng off of the antenna, but they couldn’t manage it and the datatracker Hollow Men went down in the process. Then they decided to put the Monstrucker into action. He put on a small show himself, gunning down a monk and downing the Rui Shi again while bringing the unconscious Hollow Men back up with the help of his Zondbot.

YJ’s final push was all about the objectives. The Daoying Lt hacker was able to secure the antenna on the opposite side, while Liason Officer Tai Sheng and the Haidao rotated to secure the Tech-Coffin and first antenna. YJ finally activated their hidden Daofei to help reinforce the Daoying and a Guilang was ordered to help Tai Sheng hold the Tech Coffin. Again, YJ broke into suppressing fire blanketing the area in lead. The Nomads wouldn’t give up though. They made were ready to fight to the end. The Lunokhod hit the Daofei and Daoying with a heavy flamethrower, but the Daofei endured it and the Daoying ducked out of the way. The Gecko then made a last stand, leaving cover and moving towards the tech coffin while attempting to dislodge the Haidao from the antenna. Unfortunately the YJ forces were dug in too deep and although the Gecko never went down, he was unable to break through due to a lucky streak of YJ critical hits.

It was a hard fought battle on both sides despite the score. Today the Emperor came out on top, but the Nomads will not forget, and will not be kept down.
